Hey everybody, some of you might know me from thenewx.org, I use the same S/N over there, I recently heard about this site and thought I'd check it out. Seems like TNX might be going downhill a bit, I'm not giving up on it entirely but this place seems pretty fun so I thought i'd check it out.

I've got an 06 SE (obviously lol) with a few things done to it

And I also have a 66 Toyota Landcruiser that I'm working on

I'll post a little more info about both in the appropriate section, but I'm glad to be here!

Welcome to the Nation, the best Xterra site on the NET...IMO. You already know about GLX, there are a few members here as well. AND... there is MAXterra. It's a REGIONAL group with the intention of bringing ALL Xterra Clubs and lone wolves in our region together. Feel free to check it out and perhaps join.

Sweet, a fellow South Dakotan :D most people down here where I live now seem to think we are still a territory.

Haha! Yeah, not many people know much about this area, the Black Hills are a pretty awesome secret. Where abouts are you from in SD?

If you have any intentions to come up here this summer, you'll have to check into coming up during the meet that's being planned. I'll post up more info about I here when I get a chance.

Welcome over! I remember when you posted up on TNX when you got the Landcruiser. Looks like a fun project vehicle. :)

No worries, those of us raised in the upper Midwest (MN) have actually visited SD and I feel your pain with lack of other Xers to wheel with (most people confuse Idaho with Iowa, strangely enough *sigh*)

Welcome!!!

I don't care if its an x forum.... More pics of the cruiser!!

X2, I got a soft spot for classic 4x4's. Modern is great, but old school is so cool.

Hahaha, I'd be glad you oblige your requests :) I've spent the last... 8 months or so (since i've owned the truck) trying to get it to Daily Driver condition. It's certainly been a learning experience, I bought it like this...
IMG_0780.jpg

It had a whole list on engine related issues, a few of which were a bad headgasket, carburetor, fuel pump, thermostat. I replaced all of them and had it running pretty well until a few electrical problems started to make their appearance. Overall it's been a great learning experience, it's taken longer than I expected to get it to this point, but funds come in slowly sometimes. I'm really happy to say that as of TODAY, it is finally in good enough running condition to drive it daily. Here a few random pictures that should give you a general idea of the truck, I'll hopefully post a full thread with plenty of pictures.

Another Welcome from Colorado. I'm hoping to make it for that Black Hills meet; it's going to depend on when it is...
Thanks man! Hoping you can make it up here too. I think in the next month or two we'll be able to get the dates nailed down and get an idea who will be able to make it. I'm hoping to work around everyones schedule and get as many people as possible :)

Welcome to the Nation!
Thanks!

Welcome to the nation! I've been reading your progress on the land cruiser since the thread started, we've got an entire section here devoted to peoples other rides so I'm sure I'll get to ogle your cruiser pictures here soon.

I'm from Sioux Falls, all my family is still there. I've been in Tennessee the past 10 years but my mom moved back there in 2011 so I'm all alone down here now lol. I'm actually coming back in June for a week and probably will bring the Xterra unless I manage to have the Civic turboed by then (I won't).

I know your feeling Mel, it's the same down here in FL. All Jeepers/Mud boggers. Good group of Fj's though.

Thanks! Nice to know a few people are watching the thread. I really like the feature here of "Other Rides", its a convenient place to post stuff, and keep it out of the clutter of "Off Topic"

Thanks! We've got a ton of Jeeps here too, most of them are pretty civil though.
