True, I grew up with Pierce Brosnan as Bond so I immediately thought Craig would suck. But I like him. I didn't like Skyfall as much as everyone else seemed too, but Craig is a good Bond.

And that is a good point, Downey and Stark are a lot alike.

It'll be hard to bring in X-Men characters into an Avengers movie. The two franchises are owned by separate distributors (Avengers - Disney/Marvel, X-Men - Fox) so coming to terms for even a cameo will be extremely difficult. Marvel has all but said the X-Men, F4, Spiderman, and Avengers worlds are different Earths. There's always the possibility that if the rights to any franchise comes up, and Disney/Marvel can recoup them, that there may be an extra dimensional storyline to try to join the incoming franchise.

You didn't like Skyfall because you didn't watch Sean Connery in Dr No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, & Diamonds Are Forever repeatedly when you were little. (We're going to go ahead and temporarily forget about George Lazenby in OHMSS.....for any other Bond nuts out there)

I liked the Brosnan Bond films.....well....most of them....Tomorrow Never Dies was pretty much garbage. Doctor Christmas Jones?!?! Really?!?!

Skyfall completed the reboot of the 007 franchise. When Casino Royale came out, sure it was good. But it don't feel very "007ish." Then Quantum of Shoelace....I mean Solace. A little bit better, but still not what I thought Bond should/could be w/ Craig behind the wheel. Then we came full circle in Skyfall. And while I thought the villain was kind of stupid, it brought the entire franchise back around to the red padded door and tossing the hat on to the hat rack. It was brilliant.

RE Marvel Movies:

Yes. The distribution companies are different but all of the rights for the characters are still held by Marvel the entity. Now, Marvel Studios (from my understanding a breakaway from Fox) does not have rights to all of the Marvel characters. WHICH IS STUPID! And while I get it that these are different earths or different timelines or what have you, they have already rebooted the Spider-Man series (much to my dismay) into a new reality so why can't they do that with some more of the Marvel stuff. But in a good way.

/McGuire was a better Spider-Man
//Venom was the biggest let down of the entire series
///Really wanted to see Carnage or Venom done right
////Yes, I'm a giant nerd.

The new Spider-Man is hard to watch.. They based in on the reboot comic ultimate series and that is junk. I fell a sleep watching the reboot and have no plans to finish it.. Which is sad because that has always been my guy

The reason that Downey works so well for Stark is that the actor IS Tony Stark. He's rich, he's an alcoholic, a womanizer, the only thing Downey is missing is the super intelligence. heh.

I can understand wanting to keep the series going, but actors get old and we move on. I'd be good with him doing the next Avengers movie just for continuity's sake.

Its a shame about Renner. I thought he was a good fit for Hawkeye. And Hawkeye in himself is a good character. What needs to happen is they need to bring Wolverine into the Avengers fold. (and get the hell rid of Thor!)

/no Thor.

You just hate Thor :p!

Although I agree they should bring in Wolverine.

All the marvel movies are based on the ultimate series. I think tobey was a terrible spiderman. I too would love to see venom done right and see carnage! The reason they use the ultimate series is because its more in our time it's not as dated. Plus how can you not love anythin with Emma stone?

I just found out that M. Night Shyamalan is the director for the Will Smith movie After Earth, I don't know if I'll be watching in the theater anymore.

I just found this out too. They kept that a secret for a while lol. His movies always disappoint

What do you have against M Night Shamalamadingdomg?

His movies suck IMO. The 6th Sense was good once. After that there's never another reason to watch. His others have all disappointed me. I'm actually surprised Will Smith allowed his movie to be directed by him. I'll still watch it, on DVD. I think I'll substitute in Superman or Fast and Furious 6 into a theater slot, I have to pick and choose :/

My dad just watched Cloud Atlas. He advised me not to waste my time. Said it was slow, pointless, and poorly done. Its only thing was that it had a lot of big actors in it.

^Ah ha good to know. I saw the trailer, which made it look interesting. SO I read the book, which was kind of pointless and blah. Still wondering on the movie...hoping it could not be as bad as the book.

I wasn't disappointed with Cloud Atlas....I like movies that make you think hard like that....

went to watch After Earth and Fast & Furious 6 at the drive in last night....After Earth was...well, an M. Night Shamalamadingdong movie...it wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either, thus answering an important question, can Will Smith and his son combine their superpowers and save a movie from Shamalamadingdong. The answer....a resounding "meh". Fast 6: not bad....but, dammit, they just had to make an in for the next movie...*grumble*

You laugh because you've read the books, and you KNOW what I'm talking about. I was SO excited when Child posted the movie on Facebook, until they announced who the cast as Reacher.....I refuse to see it. Tommy Boy will completely RUIN Reacher for me if I do.

I haven't read them, but, I've had quite a few friends make similar remarks. Having watched the movie, I'll say for the movie's sake, he did a decent job.

I don't know that I'd be impressed if I'd read the books, but, who knows, maybe the wonderhobbit did a good job.

Reacher has been described as 6'5", 250lbs in every book written about him.......Tommy Homo is a foot shorter, and 100lbs too light.
