Well, I've had my Xterra for one month now and having a great time with it. I do get a lot of stares from other Nissan owners. Mostly Frontier owners. lol. Anyway, where on earth is the jack and lug nut wrench located? I don't need it but I realized I haven't seen any place inside or under the hood that the jack could be. Thanks guys. lol

Not 100% on the 2002-2004, but under the cargo floor. Lift up the cargo mat, and under there will be a plastic 'lid' holding the tire changing equipment. Jack, lug wrench, bar to lower the tire, and a pry bar to pop off the center caps.

Sorry to threadjack, but...

Under the carpet in the back cargo area. There's an awesome little organizer Nissan put in there, too.

Organizer? What is this organizer of which you speak? I'ma be upset if I'm missing something, especially an organizer, haha. Do you mean the big plastic tray that everything snaps into?

I'd take a pic of my tray, but it's under my cargo box haha

FYI 1st Gens do not have a "under the back seat", anything. It's a hump that seat cushions attach to. I REALLY wish there was a space under the back seats in the 1st Gens all the time.

Right? I'm jealous of the 2nd Gen under the seat storage. I think we could fit a pack of gum or maybe playing cards under ours...but not at the same time.

Ah that thing, ok. I was worried I was missing some other organizer thing that goes in there somehow. I've got that plastic tray.

I was thinking there was a nice deep compartment under the mat or something. Realy can't fit anything of size under there either.

You can always put an air compressor is there,,,

you will need to find a new location for the jack, but lets talk about priorities people..

Dont be jelous, they are very over rated and a pain to use. just get a set of star drivers that you can use on a socket you will be much happier in the long run.

That's what I did.. I have a Kershaw knife that has a built in screw driver, and I have a bit stored in the knife. It works well.

I use a >whatever number it is< Torx socket for the roof. At work I use Torx T handle drivers all the time and those are even better.

Compressor:
Would the compressor be alright if say, it was covered by a wooden cargo/utility box? If so, this may be my next mod.

That one is only for my lockers so heat is not a concern, if I were running a full OBA I might need to expand the space a bit to accomadate the larger compressor.
