Over 6ooo miles on this axle swap. The road grime is starting to pile up..

The lower part of the mounts are made to fit....

This truck works wonderfully til about 75 mph, then the bit of sway gets unnerving for the wife to drive. It is two fold better at speed than other rigs I have built in the past. We daily drive it snow, rain, or shine. This should make it feel close to stock.

Again, I might just send you and Allen my truck, buy myself a DD, then let you guys have fun with my truck. Anything goes, just call before you cut metal.

Sent from space and stuff

Take mine to visit with only four guidelines....

Dana 60 IFS w/ARB for front.
Dana 60 w/ARB for rear.
Whipple supercharger.
Don't murder my fuel economy.

Should be fun enough ;)

unicorn blood powered too?

nah, currie makes a D60IFS front unit, and a matched rear... slap em in, and it's easy! the whipple will be a bit of a challenge....and staying around 15mpg shouldn't be THAT tough to do decent gear ratios and all... 35's are really all the bigger I'd want to go... hell, I'd be happy with 33's....

The alternator was making noise... time for a new one. The good old Quest conversion for 125amps. Also replaced the battery, radiator, new (reman) steering box, better track bar bushing, cleaned up the brake line configuration, and replaced all four 02 sensors.

Soooo, the spark plug wires were discolored, so I rebuilt the engine.

LOL!

Just getting the rig ready for another 180K. The tranny must have been serviced with the wrong lube in the past, being it is starting to howl. So it will be next, along with some associated items that are easy to upgrade while it is apart.

It is in the fusebox by the battery. You have to take that box apart in order to get to a 10mm on one side and an 8mm on the other. GoOd FuN... I think!?!

Found this video on youtube...

He had to cut the harness out to make it look that easy..

I had to remove the battery, cruise, relay box, and unbolt that box in order to get enough slack in the harness to lift it out a little. Then try to pry that little darling apart with the tension of the harness fighting you. Like I said... harder than one would think....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the older Nissan rigs the fusible link was a loop of wire on a plug right by the battery post. Easy stuff....

Diggen the limited slips front and rear..

This is the first completed SaS build that is focused on road first, trail second.

LOL, ya no kidding! Good thing there are two other solid axled Nissans in the driveway. This Xterra is made with the focus that the wife can drive it whenever. This sway bar should put in on par with the goal.

Do you know what it's like with you living down the hill from me? I was the only one with an X around here, then that thing turned up at GM one day and I'm drooling in the parking lot, even pre SAS it was gnarly. Keep it up! By the way, it doesn't sound stock...

We both know that's crap. I hear the pulls you make heading up green mountain drive. Something is a foot under there. Don't be fooled people! It sounded a bit deeper than mine, and mine was running a free flow exhaust.

We will be down the hill for one more school year. The older kiddo then graduates and we are outta here...
