Gen 1 Xterra (D22) Rugged Rocks Diamond SAS

This makes me want to continue acquiring my SAS stuff, but I know that it's more important to buy a house. Once I get finances in order and the X is nothing but a screw around vehicle I'll be doing something to it.

I got to see it today... and it was nothing short of amazingly incredible! I literally giggled like a Japanese schoolgirl when I saw it pull up. It's the stuff that dreams are made of. My phone's camera was disabled by the sheer awesomeness exuding from it, and therefore no pictures of the beast were captured. Excellent work Steve, it's gorgeous :sure:

Thanks! Couldn't ha e pulled it off like this without Kenny. It takes the 2 of us to make builds like this happen.

Front 3rd member going in!
Loaded with 5.57 gears and limited slip differential.

(The non-ABS yoke hadn't come in by the time the 3rd members were built, but can pretty easily be swapped out. this one works just fine, it's just about 1/2" longer and the other is just aesthetically more pleasing.)

once the front driveshaft was installed and a few last things were done like install brake lines and bleed them. as well as nistall the yukon manual locking hubs, and trim the fenders. we were ready for a little local test run.

Dave has more pictures as well.

Hole. E. Crap. Capt. I. Hate. You.

That truck looks awesome. I love it.

Steevo, did you end up with functional ABS? I know we discussed it earlier last year regarding a SAS and ABS. You mentioned using a tone ring on the 3rd Member to keep the ABS working.

You do outstanding work. And I know the next question on everyone's mind, how much is it going to cost the average Joe to build one of these Diamond axle masterpieces?

I heard it also is going to be rocking an RLC front bumper, you think he is going to have to trim that?

Also, badass build my friend, quality work all around.

The RLC bumper almost fits perfect. The length is just right, I just need to give the ends just a little trim to have more of a diagonal/horizontal angle near the fender well instead of the more straight down angle the end has now.

Looks awesome man! If it was my truck I'd be going to the next jeep "meet and greet" to show them how it is done.

Have to ask how is it for power turning those massive 37's

I don't have an exact measurement, but if I had to give a measurement right now, I'd have to say "way the hell up there."

I'll get some actual measurements tomorrow. I need to tweak the coils a bit so I'll take some measurements after I get it off the lift.
