I know this thread does not fit exactly in this subforum, but none other fit into electrical category either.
I figure this is a universal question for any sort of vehicle that has a dual battery set-up.
I am looking at all the parts I will need for this endeavor. Keep in mind, I am not much of a gearhead, much less super savvy at electrical stuff.
Things needed:
Companies I have found that have some of this stuff are:
Ironman 274Amp Dual battery kit ($335): http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=2265
vs.
Ironman 140Amp Dual battery kit ($275):
http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=2264
National Luna Intelligent Solenoid - Dual Battery Isolator ($145): http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=544
PLUS
National Luna - Dual Controller ($90): http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=551
OR
Painless Performance 250 Amp Dual Battery Current Control System ($230.57): http://www.painlesswiring.com/webcatalog/largeview.php?SearchField=40102
If use Luna, need battery cable kit
Painless Performance kit ($149.52): http://www.painlesswiring.com/webcatalog/largeview.php?SearchField=40100 includes terminals, 15' red, 3' black, etc.
Additional things to keep in mind:
-Placement: keep under hood in engine bay using ChrisHaynes model (move steering fluid container) vs.
Putting in back somewhere (considering behind driver seat on floor when I remove rear seats for fridge)
If under hood, must fabricate battery tray to fit 2 side by side.
vs.
fabricate protective box for inside cabin
