another suspension lift question

I looked through the forum but didn't see any info on this, im assuming its probably not good but still wondering anyway: has anyone used the coil spacer lift and a set of longer coil overs? I am running the nisstec 2" spacers with rear shackles andhave 33x12.5s under it right now. wanting another few inches of travel. my rear is on the lowest setting on shackles so I can go up a few inches there (will need to do something about the brake hoses obviously) but the front im not sure if I can just get the longer coil overs and do new set of shocks, instead of getting whole new lift kit.

Your best bet is to call nisstec and talk it through with them. They are great and will be able to answer all questions that come up as things are discussed.

Can you use coil spacers and longer coil overs. Yes. The issue with the 2nd gens is anything at approximately 3" or over you start hitting the limit of the upper control arm. And price of stuff starts going up since new UCAs are not cheap. Nothing you do with the coil over will allow more travel unless you replace the UCA and get different coil overs as this is your limiting factor. All you are doing right now is adjusting how much down travel vs up travel you currently have. The overall travel is the same.

For the rear brake lines just undue them from the bracket on the axle and create a little spacer to hold them further from the axle. I'm running 3-5" of lift in the back depending on load and this is essentially what I did.

You are right longer coil overs will help. You could get the adjustable ones. At this point as to where you are at. I would not do anything until I replace the UCA and then I would upgrade the quality of my coil overs at that point and time.

My undercarriage is filthy. Don't mind it. Anyways, not the prettiest but functional and cheap.

Awesome. Thank you for taking the time. Your undercarriage looks like mine so no need to apologize.

Some guys on tnx bought them. Had to replace hardware before install and ball joints within a week. All told, they cost more than spc arms.

Money! I love my x, love that not a lot of folks rock them. With not a lot of folks comes low levels of aftermarket support and increased costs of those that do. I'd love to run out and grab these lift components but can't afford to. It will take at least 2-3 years to piece it together at this rate but I'm committed. Family, job, truck is the priority list. Same old song for most of the folks here. I've go a line on coil overs but I'll need UCA's to put them on so I'm searching all the info I can and scouring the net for used parts when possible. Having parts arrive on days the wife is t home is helping too lol.

hey guys, sorry i have been a ghost on replying to this thread i started, been doing a little world traveling the last 2 months so not much internet time. i appreciate all the info and ideas. will have to get ahold of nisstec and see what all my options are. on a good note, my xterra did great over some rock steps near yellowstone last week. only had one time where i heard some fender rub
