lol. i diet already and don't eat or cheat rarely as it is. and ya i don't drink or anything anymore either. got tired of it messing me up. mind asking what you weighed in at? i'll be competing at around 170-180 i think. at 5'11. the guys at the gym now that are preparing for saturday are begging me to give them carbs. lol i feel bad for them so i bring pasta and shiat to the gym and eat it in front of them. oh how it makes them so happy.

Since you are competing next year I would stay within 15-20 pounds. A good measure is when you can barely see your abs, you know you are close. I thought I was going to be at 170 at weigh in but ended up at 164, and I am 5'11" also. That was also the night before, so I was super carb depleted. The day of show I was more like 169-170. Problem is that I was the 2nd tallest in my class and it's hard to look good next to the short guys.

And yea I was doing 1170 for 4 on the leg press last year lol.

Squat was around 375, DB bench was 125's for 8-10, dead around 550.

Im back at the Gym :) Started last week.. Feels good to burn some energy off again..

Going from the busy pace at the Smyrna Nissan plant to a desk job was about to kill me..
All I want is to loose about 20 lbs and to get fit.. Im doing 20 mins of elliptical right now with some upper body work out..
Mostly chest.. and biceps I lost 10lbs working at Nissan from Nov to March.. now its time to take off a few more...

for cutting drb. you should look into HIIT training for your cardio or crossfit. i don't know how your cardio is but let me tell you hiit training will definitely help you cut weight quick.

that's because your probably using a cable leg press machine. he is using a free weight one. and ya im sure he is easily doing over 1k. you should look up Rodney Coleman aaron. look at his leg workout of my personal favorite lifter Flex Lewis.

I had to stop doing that due to a hip flexxor issue and my knees would be trashed after. '

So I started nov at 205lbs I'm now at 186 :) I've had one set back... I've done something to my ankle this week..
So it looks like no elliptical for me till It gets right. I'll keep on my upper body training

I use to lift back in college and when I was in the academy. Right now im way up in weight at 242 (this morning, 5'8"), but last week I was at 248. Been doing Insanity with Sean T. That workout is freaking intense. With the proper diet, im gunning for 200 (my ideal weight). Im an LEO, and I always swore up and down that I would never let myself get out of control. Its time to get back to basics and take care of myself.

What are you guys doing to get active this summer?

With a new baby, the wife and I are trying to walk daily to help get my wife and son out of the house a little. With the 100 degree days it's difficult for her to do much outside with the baby for so we've got a very limited window near the end of the day where we try and walk during our busy evenings. We're planning on routing out a mile and attempting to beat our time every time we go until we're jogging. We've even discussed doing some sort of marathon even though it seems like a far cry right now.

its fire season for me. every summer i get to chase wildland fires like a chicken with my head cut off. other than that i plan on doing some hiking and another tough mudder. marathons are cool did my first one last year. plan on doing full 26 or half?

A half would be the most I'd bite off at first. Even still it will definitely depend on whether we follow through with some training this summer. If nothing else we're gonna try and change our lifestyle to set a better example for our children.

So I started my “diet” on Monday with a hour of exercise. Stepped on the scale this morning and was down 8lbs. First week always produces higher numbers, but it is very encouraging :)

300 air squats
1mile run

btw if you EVER plan on doing that, do not attempt after a leg day i'm wrecked.

Lost 30 lbs since January, I'm on the 5lbs a month (slacker) plan.

I figure that it's better to create healthy long term habits rather that get immediate satisfaction loosing weight quickly; it's worked pretty well so far. Should be down in the 150's by the end of July.

I have been doing crossfit for the last couple of months, joined a local gym and do crossfit 3-4 days a week... wow what an improvement!! i love crossfit and will never go back to a normal gym again!

I'm thinking about giving it a shot. Never done it before. I've done some pretty hardcore training but it was different than crossfit. I don't mind going to the gym but I'm not as productive as when i'm doing an intense training regime like that.

ya im the same way, i never saw the results i wanted just going to the gym, but crossfit kicked my ass in a good way lol

Thanks! Not a bad clean, what do you weigh? Last year i was in the best shape of my life, weighed 220 and cleaned 315 for 5 reps.

Nice! Yeah I'm a little behind on leaning out for summer :( haha. I was used to having a football players diet, and since I don't play anymore I can't consume 6000-7000 calories a day! It's weird cutting my diet in 1/3.
