I figured out my throttle issue with my '03. Early this year, the shop did a lot of work on it. Never idle right afterward. Acceleration cable might be worn. Every person disagreed with me and stated something else. Today, I worked on it and put my hand on the cables near the firewall. It quieted down, so I zip-tied them down. However, tonight, a headlight burned out. I can not get a victory for a day with it, lol!

Did a PMF on my trans yesterday and pulled the trans skid. Also rotated the tires.

The fluid was pretty bad looking after only 18k. I'm gonna have to remake the trans skid with some room to let the hot air out underneath.

I've gotta drop mine off at the mechanic tomorrow. Something is draining my battery overnight. My auxiliary battery charging is disabled. I suspect the ignition switch is the culprit, but I don't have time to try and track it down right now, so off to the shop it goes.

Used about 1/4 of a bottle of Goo Gone to get rid of the duct tape residue, and then $15 at the car wash to clean everything and make Tonka shiny again.

Well, heard back from the shop. Turns out the inside of my positive battery terminal was corroded, causing a bad connection. This led to all my issues. They're swapping it out, and cut half the cost of the diagnostic fee off.

Getting it fixed for the cost of the diagnostic fee.

Winning!

Those look great. Dare I ask how much they were...
$631.02. The rear halo switches to amber with the turn signal. Made by TEQ Customs but took much longer than expected and in that time they took them off their website. The owner said they were too much of a pain and not worth it to make. They only had one guy that did them so they did them in batches. My 8 week lead time turned into just over 12, but I know at least one other in that batch placed their order 5 weeks before me. Some minor issues I had to fix with the wiring harness and lights but nothing too serious.

Thanks for the info. I would not mind upgrading the headlights on the Fronty to something like this in the future.

I got an oil change and filled up my gas tank for my 2003 Xterra. I added half a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer with the oil change because it's at 300,000. It was amusing to be at the gas station with my Gen 1 Xterra parked next to a Gen 2. Most Gen 2 owners seemed to think they had a better car. They didn't realize that I have a Gen 2 at home myself. Gen 2s have more power and are better on long road trips. Going to work and bombing around town, I do prefer my Gen1. Both are simple, but Gen 1 is super simple, and the layout is friendlier.
