so I’ve been thinking about picking up a tool cart for when I need to work on vehicles. Garage is too small for the truck or the van and am getting tired of making multiple trips back and forth to get tools, move tools, or put them away. Don’t want to spend a fortune but also willing to pay for a bit of quality. ( not interested in snap on prices but better then Rubbermaid quality)

these 2 are from Home depo.
the first one is a bit more on the expensive side coming in at $362.00 CAD plus tax. 4.5 star review out of 800+ reivues. IMG_0039.png
its only sold online somi can’t see it in person at the store

second is a smaller tool cart. On,y had 2.5 star review but only has 2 reviews

the price for this one is a bit cheaper at $150 plus tax and my local home depot has a couple in stock.

just not sure what I really want to get. I know something along these lines, anybody have any recomendations

I'd probably go with #2. We use something similar as a "crash cart" for around the office. Just chuck the tools you need on top, modules on a bottom shelf, and roll away. We did add a power strip and extension cord since we need to solder, but could still be useful for you.

To add, I'm assuming you have a decent sized toolbox already. The top looks like something I'd try to keep organized with a basic set on its own.

your opinion makes sense. Specially the crash cart mentality. Looks like I’m going to hime depo tomorrow to take a look at the tool cart

Id be leaning towards the second as well. I've got a Husky tool chest that looks similar to the one on top of the first, and the drawers don't lock (only the top does), so if you need to move it, they open by themselves, which is super annoying. So without being able to see the first to know if they do that, I'd avoid it.

So after looking at the actual cart I went with it. Unfortunately they only had the display model left and it had a bit of damage on it. So I ordered one from their depo. Should have it by Friday Of next week.

I assume you dont have a harbor freight up there?

US General are some of the best made tool boxes for the buck, and that is a hill I would die on. Way better than anything I found at Lowes or Home Depot. I have the Tech cart, in addition to their tall blue two piece tool chest.
