I'm only a filthy casual when it comes to programming. Yeah, I do some for work, but it's small little things like preprogramming a satellite receiver before shipping to an affiliate by a single button press, or setting up a GPIO to SNMP adapter to merge our SNMP only transmitters with our GPIO based remote control system. Little things.

And I _may_ have once written a program to log relay closures from a satellite network using a USB device, then wrote a web site to display time stamps for those closures so the traffic team could tell if a break was missed or not. I've only threatened to rewrite that system from scratch for my current employer.
