My day off, without the kids. School's canceled. They're watching TV and cycling laundry. I'm dicking around on the internet, trying to decide what the day holds for me.

The weather's crappy.

So I need some ideas on where to weigh my X. It's fairly bone stock and I thought it would be neat to get a totally empty weight w/o mods and then not only refigure mileage but get a weight after all the mods.

Cleaned out all the tools, cables, 3day BOB etc. and filled it up with gas at the local TA truck stop. The little girl at counter says, "Oh just pull up on the scale and push the button and then pull out, takes likes 20 seconds." I said cool, what would you charge me to weigh my truck? She said it would be $12.50 +tax..
I questioned how quick it would be and she could just tell me over the speaker, but nooo, that would be against the rules.

Where else could I possibly get a weight?

Landfill? They usually weigh before and after.

Well if your really board ? I'll pick Ur brain for a minute . My 05 that I've had since last Sept has always sat up a little more in the rear. I just went and measured it, 34.25 ground to fender in the front and 35.75 in the rear. do most X's sit with a little/lot of angle ? I noticed that radflo's can be ordered pre-adjusted up to 2 inch's but I was thinking only raising the front about an inch. But since the shock's feel like there still working OK what do you think about just 1 inch spacers on the front ? this off road vehicle stuff is new to me but I did grow up on dirt bike's , alway's liked being on the trail's. I appreciate Ur insight It's hell being a 59 year old xterra rookie:) It's 35.8 degrees here just started raining. And as alway's Thank You !!

Yes, the stock Xterra sits with a bit of rake. The reason behind this is really for better fuel mileage. Since our vehicles, and all pickups and SUVs, are basically bricks when going through the air a slight rake makes them just a wee bit more aerodynamic, thus a bit better fuel mileage.

When making any change to suspension, try to maintain a bit of rake.

Most truck chassis vehicles will sit higher in the rear. It helps maintain alignment when the rear gets loaded or towing.

I prefer a little higher in the rear myself. I have probably 2" of rake with +500lb springs and even at that, it'll squat when fully loaded with gear and people.

If you're really concerned with it, you might look into some spaces for the front. Nisstec makes a 1" lift spacer (0.5" thick) that will level you out and could be useful in the future. I run one on top of my Rads with them set at about 1.5" lift to improve down travel and ride quality.

What he said. Thats why most trucks have rake from the factory.

I hit another deer last night with the wife's car. There was little to no damage to her car (I just turned off the street I live on). I sware that car is a deer magnet I'm always having to avoid hitting deer. My xterra is so loud that when I drive it it's like all wildlife dropped off the face of the earth. That being said the police and sheriff's want to pull me over and complain about how loud it is but it is proof that loud pipes saves lives.

If you have any large metal items to scrap, maybe a metal recycling place could do it.

Thank's TerryD , Brunnie and Kirk I appreciate the insight. I think I'll just leave it like it sit's right now, and get the radflo/spring assembly when she start's hitting bottom/sagging down or handling get's a little funky. Probably a good time for the rear breather extension so I'll be ready for spring time puddle's .""""""""""""""""" Thank's Guy's""""""""""""""""""

Since I put a flowmaster 40 series on the X the only animal's [ beside's the 2 legged variety ] that I come in contact with are squirrels. But they have always been known for their prowess playing the game of chicken to see who has the biggest nut's [pun intended]
