A Gerber is hard to beat for the money as well as a Kershaw. The first knife I ever paid over $50 for was my Kershaw Ken Onion Blur S30V. It's assisted but not automatic so I don't know how that plays into the paranoia of your locality.

I have a couple Benchmade knives I really like as well now. I fell in love with the Freek and North Fork, both in S30V as well.

Bleh... I hear folks talk about olive bars and fancy cheese... naw, I'm ok. Gimme some pico de gallo and some chips.
Never heard of an olive bar. We had a Thanksgiving dinner at work tonight and someone made like little skewers out of cheese and olives and I ate to many of them.

ok. You're in commie Chicago area so no auto. Good knife on the cheap but affective....buck, and it's on sale. Traditional folder. Made in good 'ol U.S. of A and a good blade. However, it's 420, get a sharpener if you don't already have one.

I carried one of those heavy bastards for years. Good knife but damn. I want a slim pocket folder with a blade about as long as a ball point pen, budget under $200.

and its texas, I can carry a ufcking machete if i want

I like pickle bars. Those are awesome. There's an awesome Jewish deli in Doylestown pa that makes a hell of a Rueben and has a pickle bar. Any type of pickled item you can think of is there.
