We need it.
So she renewed her VA EMT certification in November of 2015. At the time, VA certifications were valid for 4 years. So hers doesn't expire until 2019. But a month after her recertification, VA did away with state registration and joined the National Registration system. Because of that transition it looks like she has to do all of her recertification classes right now AND test for the national certification in order to update her status to national registration which is required for CO registration. If we were staying in VA, when she renewed next year, she would automatically be nationally registered. But because of the early upgrade that she is having to do for national now, it's almost like she has to start from square one. It's ufcking stupid.
