Squid's home. They wound up gluing the wound together, was only about a inch long. And turns out it wasn't a nail, it was his knife he was being careless with.

I cut some shiat i wasn't supposed to with my knife forever ago as a kid. Dad took it, gave me a spoon. Told me to keep up with it like my knife for a time undetermined. He would ask, and out would come the spoon. Finally when I got my knife back, he asked if I tore up anything with the spoon. Well no. Well now you know how to be responsible with the knife dontcha. Next time you lose it for good.

Im sure these days it would be abuse, but it worked on me.
Not really abuse. Your teaching to be responsible with a knife. (That’s why i gave my son his first wooden knife when I came home for Xmas last year. When I left for deployment all he would talk about was how he couldn’t wait to grow up so he could have a knife like daddy). I’ve since had to take it away a couple times because he was pretending to cut stuff he wasn’t supposed to.

Also I already have a Spyderco Dragonfly 2 for when he is a bit older and will be able to handle a real blade. Thinking about getting the plastic one as an upgrade

Thats a good dad. Much like teaching kids to be careful with firearms early makes them respect them early.

I’ve also been taking him out with me when I go for group therapy at the range. I picked up a pellet gun that looks like an M4 and have a small bipod set up on it and let him fire off a few pellets while I am teaching him range safety

That is parenting done right. I bring my kid out with me also when I go shooting.

You, sir, need better engineers.
I have found most engineers live in their own little fantasy world. When looking at some blue prints you have to wonder if they completed the 5th grade. "Yeah we need you to hold a .0005 tolerance on this length, oh and it's called off a raw casting surface that is not going to be machined".

So my CO walked up to me this evening and asks me what winch I have on my truck. And how I liked the synthetic line on it vs a steel cable.

Who would of thought that my CO knew that I drive an Xterra

Speaking of blades, I'm thinking about switching to a cleaver for an EDC. Pros/cons? Anyone carry a cleaver folder?
