My frontier has had a leer fiberglass tonneau cover on it since I bought it.

I gave it a try, and learned that it just is not for me. It's to limiting, and renders the bed useless for actual truck things (loads of dirt, gravel, large appliances, etc).

For my birthday, my parents bought me a new roll up tonneau, which my buddy and I put on today, after taking the fiberglass tonneau off.

Very nice. Yea I never understood the one piece angle open crap. My dad always had the roll up leather covers on his trucks. Mine came with a tri fold. Still kinda a pain to take off when I need full bed use. But that isn't often to justify the one I "need" lol.

I thought about the trifold cover, but opted for the roll up specifically due to full use of the bed. This one was less the 300 bucks, and fits like a glove. I love it!

I have a tri fold cover on my Silverado. For how often I need the full bed of the truck this works for me. I am able to completely remove the tonneau cover in the span of 5 minutes. Just need some pre planning if I need to pick up anything

Yeah, with as tight as this one fits, and the retention mechanism for the latch, I'm not worried about it coming open. It's WAY more secure than the truxedo cover I had on my Colorado (that I never used toward the end, because it wouldn't stay closed).

Tonneau covers. Congratulations. You've removed the main point of a pickup truck.

With the roll up kind, I 100% disagree. It gives me full use of the bed when I need it, and weatherproof storage when I don't.

I will 100% agree with your statement when referring to the leer fiberglass one I had before though. Like I said, it was on the truck when I bought it. This is what I won't ever put a permanent bed rack on my truck either.

Yeah. I was talking specifically about the fiberglass one piece things. And somewhat about the tri fold ones. The roll up is different.
