Only a half day Thursday. Paid Friday off. Then PTO mon-thurs next week and another paid day off Friday on New Years. Love me some time off around the holidays.

I've got a fully story to go along with this...

Couple years ago, I was picking on my wife and mentioned getting her a new vacuum for Christmas. She said words that made her sound offended but the look on her face was excitement. I busted it laughing and asked "do you actually want a new vacuum for Christmas?" and she very sheepishly said that she did.

So that's what she got. It wasn't all that she got but she pretty much gets what she wants.

She's pretty practical anyways so she usually asks for at least one thing like that every year. Last year it was an Instapot that's she hasn't used yet. LOL.

Going with Google Home smart devices. Ordered the Nest Thermostat and doorbell. Guess we'll see how this goes.
I purchased the nest thermostat a couple years ago and got a nice little kickback from my utility company. Works great.

Was thinking about going with the doorbell next but need to make sure it's compatible. Let me know if you like it.

My last house I had to rewire and put in a bigger transformer, but my current house was built in the mid 2000s and was all set. Now though they even have battery ones so I think somewhat universal. I know wired is better though.

I got the battery one since we don't have a door bell. It's supposed to chime through the Google Home devices.

Well ufck, wife broke her arm at the hill yesterday. Had to pack up quick and get her to the hospital. And had to leave the car behind. So now I get to deal with all the Christmas stuff myself, arranging to go pick up the car 3 hours away and help her. And she gets out of shoveling and packing fire wood for at lest a few months. I am feeling slightly frustrated. Sucks she hurt herself, but arrgg.
