And then I realized that the version I have on my server is the directors cut. Which after watching for 5 minutes is ufcking terrible. They cut the narrator track & lost the blue tint on everything. Pass. The narrator track completes the movie.

Guess I'm digging the DVD out of the basement tomorrow.

Yep. Can't watch it. Not as enjoyable.

So. Don't watch the directors cut of Payback. It's straight trash.

Total Recall then. The real one.

Payback.

Regardless of what you think about Mel Gibson as a person. This is a fantastic movie. Brilliantly written and casted. And just an all around joy to watch.

Love this movie, haven’t watched in probably 10 years. The beginning with the betrayal, and then the systematic retribution is really well written. Especially love towards the end when he uses their car phone to get them to pick up the phone that they hooked a bomb to try to get him. May not be remembering that 100% correctly, but very satisfying scene.

Correction - I remembered that I last re-watched it on tv when the wife was asleep in the last few months when we were in an apartment ~6 years ago. Those were the days, when she still could really sleep.

Back home. Took the family to Colonial Williamsburg. It was my first time and I loved it. I like history and I love the "old ways" of doing things. Getting to see the processes they used was cool. I want to go back when I can spend more time. Possibly without the wife and kids. :p

Did you go to Jamestown while you were there?

I like Colonial Williamsburg. You want a good time go for the Grand Illumination. Fireworks. Adult hot cider. The saltiest most delicious ham rolls you've ever had in your life. It's a good way to spend an evening.

Grand Prairie, you are looser than when I was last in you. I don't like you anymore, well, never really did but you had a nice auto dimming, temp sensing directional mirror I liked so there's that.
