so i've only seen one X do a SOA without the SAS anyone know the problems, rake , etc that you will run into with IFS. Around here tons of people do it because of the prerunner shat so i know it wouldn't cost much. Also know the flex is better. i plan on getting a new leaf pack. dropping my AC shackles for some stock ones. but how much more would the back rack with the SOA. any input is welcome thanks in advance.

its putting the leafs above your axle instead of underneath. so i'm sure the rear lift is couple inches higher i could be incorrect though.

If you changed the front hangers to get the spring up it would work. Also it doesnt flex better, the leaf spring doesnt care where the axle is when it comes to flex. Axle wrap on the otherhand......

Or theres another option outboard the leaf spring to the outside of the frame & you could go spoa & not change the ride height at all & it will also make the truck more stable with less body roll. The downside would be a loss of flex if you kept the stock leaf pack. You could go outboard chevy 63"s for more flex but it really boils back to money. Is the gain worth the price?

Axle wrap on the otherhand......

I liked everything you said midget.

Axle wrap can be solved with the inclusion of a stabilizer bar, for lack of a better term. Basically, a bar/link that runs to the frame. I'm sure midget has seen it as well, but a few SAS guys do this when going SOA to compensate for the torque causing axle wrap, again, for lack of a better term.

You lose clearance with the anti-wrap bars, so most SAS guys don't do it. They just drive it like they always did. Especially since there's a ton of vehicles that come stock with SOA leaves.... like Frontiers. And Titans. Chevys, Fords, Dodges, etc.

Just an observation.
