OK since people are redoing head lights, Has anyone thought if Offroad lights can be redone as well instead of buying all new ones?

Just asking.........:uhhh:

I plan on dropping some H3 100 watt bulbs into my hellas.. but I also want to put some rock lights in for nXm when we go night wheeling.. so I am open to ideas for lights.

I'm talking with something like in the retrofitting thread. My Eagle's already have 130W bulbs in them. But the housing is just about the size of the headlight housing. And with Road's answer I think I figured out why. Most of yall run with Hella's , the housing on them won't hold the lamps hardware. But the Eagles just might.

What bulbs were you thinking of running? Any ideas?

I haven't looked into anything yet other than it seems best to not go over 5K. But those are headlights, I'm talking for the floods and spots on the roof and maybe the one's on the bumper. I was just throwing something out to see if it was possible and if anyone had any thoughts/comments.

I converted my hella 700ff from 100w halogen to 55w HID 6000k and they're awesome!!!

Way brighter than before, even with the previous upgrade to 100w lamps.

Definitely the way to go.

Yeah running cheap 55w 4300k HID's in my Hella 500's the results are stunning. Highly recommend it! Because your using them off road and not on head on traffic. The beam pattern doesn't matter as much offroad so normal old reflectors are fine. DDMtuning has the cheapest kits and I've used them the longest without failure. I bought a few random kits on ebay that the ballasts stopped working. Its hard on the ballasts if you turn them on and off all the time. I used to have them tied to my high beams when I drove home from work at 2am to look for deer as I rolled through the countryside.

My kits are DDM and has been working great for a couple of years.
Will do my roof lights when I get them up there too.

Another plus to HID upgrade is the lower current draw over the 100w halogens.
If you run a bunch of converted lights, you wont need to upgrade the alternator .
