But then you could have gotten the chrome hood I know you've always wanted.

I need factory radio mounting wings and screws!!! Somebody has to have them laying around. Don't make me buy a whole radio from eBay to get them.

Not yet. But it's on the list of things to do. Turns out I do need a passenger side fender. I can probably save the drivers side one, but the passenger is bent to hell and back.

Also started reworking my power distribution from the battery. One terminal down. Need a bigger distribution block for the positive side. So much stuff hooked up.

I want that radio. How do you like it so far?

It's pretty awesome. Though if I nit pick... And I will... The audio portion of the software isn't very strong. It has a 7 band EQ which is nice. But there no discrete subwoofer control which I'd really like to have. There aren't any crossovers either... But since my entire system is on a 5-channel amp, it does all the crossovers, so missing those isn't an issue.

And despite being able to play back 1080p media, the low resolution on the screen makes some apps really hard to navigate.

Overall, I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10.

The customization is awesome. The interface is delightful. The connectivity is epic. It's a very solid piece of kit.

So. $1000 later. New clutch, fresh oil change, transfer case seals and fluid change, 5th and 6th spark plugs changed (couldn't get them out at the last tuneup).

Got to work today in went prep.

Rebuilt my winch. The inside looked like this.

I beat down all the rust. Cleaned all the metal. It was a mess. I'm thinking one of the terminals developed a leak and the motor just filled with water. Now that it's been cleaned out and reassembled, there's so much silicone on everything there's no way it can leak. Unfortunately, it's out of warranty for the electrical stuff, so I'm on my own there.

Got it all bolted in and tested. Works like a champ.

Problem though.

My relay is dead. So the only way to operate the winch is by touching the battery cables together.

So I'm going to call a company in Arizona and see if they can overnight me a new one on Monday.

Also started reassembling the center console and getting my wiring sorted. Tuned my CB antenna.

Last for today was installing the backup camera in the rear bumper.

The location may not be ideal. But time will tell. It shows the spare in the image which is something I really wanted. Tomorrow I'll go test it and see how the colored lines work in the real world.

Tomorrow the center stack goes back in and the interior gets completely cleaned and vacuumed out.

Finally got around to installing the harness for my center stack switches that I bought from Edodrian.

So now I can pull the dash out without the headache of unplugging 12 little spade connectors.

Lastly, there were some questions a while back about how I crammed a full size CB in the dash. So I took some pictures of that as well.

Oh. And I got a brand new shift boot as mine was about done.

Funny story. Couldn't find one online. Customer of mine owns a few Nissan Dealerships. So I was doing some work at one and I just asked the parts guy about ordering one. $100. No big deal.

Problem. They're discontinued. Can't order them from corporate anymore. So he does a dealership search. There's one manual 4x4 shift boot in the entire country. One. It happens to be at another dealership 10 minutes away from my house. So he got it transferred in to his dealership and still sold it to me for the $100.
