possible rear axle not centered? anyone had this issue before?

Hey everyone, I've just been keepn on the dwn low for a min. Tryn to save money is tough as hell! Well,
here is my issue. I recently swapped out my stock 16's w/ 33's on em. They sat about flush with my
wheel wells, looked okay not bad. So I swapped them out and threw on some 15x9 -5 offset w/ 32's.
now they stick out like crazy! The problem is, now I noticed that the right rear wheel sticks out more
than the left rear wheel. The wheels have all the same offset and the hub is free of debris and I don't
use wheel spacers at all. What could be the issue? Has anyone had this problem before? At this point
I don't see or have any driving issues, I was just curious on how come it's not the same width or maybe
my axle is not centered? Any input will be helpful. Thnx.

With leafs the only way it could be off center is something being bent. And when I day something, I mean the frame, body, spring perch, or shackle.

How much is it protruding out on one side? Mine has gotta be a .5" or smaller distance with my 5" backspace from left to right wheel. I found that on all the vehicles in my work parking lot are uneven when viewed from behind. One rear wheel is out in comparison to the other. So if it's not much and it rides fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

I need to find some time to upload on photobucket. It's definitely more than 1' stickn out on the right.
My co worker looked at it and said it definately stickn out more than the othr side. But it drives okay
as far as I know. Granted I'm a factory technician (atleast i think i am) and have issue with cars everyday,
I'm gnna have to do some measuring and inspection when I have time to. Somsethns not right here.
I got some pics but I'll get bttr pics l.

Grab a tape measure and take some reference measurements of all your axle and suspension when it's sitting flat. That'll tell you if it's out from one side or the other.

If it wasn't uneven before the new wheels and tires...and now it is...it seems there has to be a rim that is defective or mis-marked as far as sizing.

I would take both rear tires off the axle and measure the distance from the rim mating surface to the inward edge of the tire. Compare them on both rims.

This is what my first thought was too.

Unless the swapping on of new rims damaged the suspension, that should be the same.

So, its possible that the rims are not the same as each other (Different width or BS, etc).

(I'm assuming you'd have noticed if the tires were different...)

I had a tire shop dell me a set of 32x10.5r15 a few years back. After a couple monthes I notice that 1 tire stuck out more than the others. The tire shop had put 1 32x12.5r15 on one rim. So check to make sure all 4 tires are the same size allong with the rims.

I was thinkn the same thing. I got these wheels and tires from my old coworker. I'm not good friends with him but I just got
Them last week. He sold them to me for $80! Maybe the one wheel has a diffrnt offset.

I am knda retarded so maybe I shld have checked if the wheels were all the same width. But then
The tires were already mounted so i didn't have any reason to. Hmmmmm...interesting. the weather has
Been $hitty here so I haven't had time to pull the wheels off. I hate tryn to bring my truck in my wrk
Bc I'd have to write up a repair order and mileage and blah blah blah.

Couple things.

1) back spacing may be different causing your wheels to stick out further when compared to stick

2) Are you positive those new wheels are 15's? What's the sizing on the tire? The wheel and tire look huge compared to the stock. You said your stocks were 16 with 33's right? Did you mean the other way around?

Where all of or most of the outer tread blocks are exposed. Like I said I haven't had the
time to get it swapped left to right or measure but I will hopefully this wknd. It just
bothers me lookn at it mostly more than anything truthfully, mechanically not yet.

Measure from bottom side of the LHS(left hand side) rear drum to some common point on the rear passenger bumper. Do the same but the opposite. If your measurements are out of whack then your axle is not centered. As posted above check your wheel offset and make sure tires are the same size.

probably a wheel...

Sorry fellas, so here's the update. I measured to a common point from the drum to the body
and it was different by 1 -/2 - or so. My rear axle is obviously not centered but I don't seem
to understand how this can be off centered? It looks to be centered by looking at where the
u bolts are and how the axle is sitting perfectly on the perches. Hopefully I don't have a
tweaked frame. Oh man!

I've actually been lookn at a 2008 X OffRoad that was just traded in to our dealership

I love my OR to death, but if you're attached to what you have and buying a new one would require payments, I wouldn't unless you have legitimate concern.
