Make your Cig lighter into a USB/AUX jack?

I came across this link on another forum thought that perhaps some of use could benefit from it as well.

Seeing my truck did not come with a cigarette lighter and my recent need for finding a way to connect my phone/ipod via aux without using a crappy cable. This fella may come in really handy.

What's $15 bucks if it actually works. I'll be buying one next week and then installing it once i get free time and am not packing and unpacking from house to house.

Looks like a pretty sweet little gem!




btw- i wasn't sure where to place this seeing it could be for both Gens.

Interesting.. I wonder where I could put this.. I like the 10 ft cable.. Maybe I could put this in the 12 volt in the console. Or.. well hell, just in the dash.

I wonder which interface this uses for USB controls.. right now I don't like the interface my Double Din headunit gives me for an ipod control.. This might be a viable option.

HA! I've had their older version in my truck for a year now and love it!

Before they combinde them into one, they fit perfectly in the center console holes next to the ciggy port! Best mod ever!

That is great but the nerd in me makes me feel like i need to share this those of you who are comforable wiring could probably put this to use for cheaper than 15 aside from the cosmetic appeal for this one that is kinda ready to go.

Don't know if this helps any but I've got these that I been using for a while. My radio unit has a MP3 connection and a simple 2 male end jumper from radio shack connects the 2.
