dude i love the throaty groan of a vq. the infiniti g35 like yours has the best stock exhaust sound out of any stock car under 50k. 100%

To me the 350 sounds the same but I agree the best stock sound I have ever heard. Dave have you researched exhausts? Keeping the same note but making it deeper and louder would be awesome

Yeah but I'm not ready to drop 1200 or so... Yes both the g35 and 350z sound amazing stock ;) I love down shifting to hear it growl

I think the g35 has a different y pipe, and the 350z had the pop charger or whatever they call it. basically different intake pipe that flows better. Lots of people try and grab them from junk yards if they can find them cheap.

I think you could find one for a decent price. I bought my 2004 g35 6mt sedan in 2008 for right at $18k with around 33k miles on it. They had a few 2005 coupes with the same package as drb for right in the 20k range with very low miles. Oddly enough the 350z's was selling for much more than the g35's.

people put the infiniti g35 pipes on 350z cars for better sound. idk the exact differences but i would imagine muffler size. 350z have pretty big mufflers and g35 coupes are a lot smaller. and as drb said, the g35 is longer, which means longer exhaust.

anything with a vq35de is good. idk who all knows this but the vq35de engine has been named best engine of the decade once or twice, and is always top 5 engine choice! go nissan!

Straight pipe!!! Just ditch the muffler and CC... You don't need em ;) haha

in certain areas of texas you need the catalytic converter lol. we get emissions testing and without the CC, you'd fail. then your car is "illegal" until you get it fixed. i hate that!

good thing i can get my inspection done in a county that doesn't require emissions testing, but i work in a county that does. so i can't move too far lol.

Yeah I was just messing with him haha. I'm pretty sure even if you don't have to do the emissions thing you still have to have a CC, not positive.. You can always just get a high-flow CC.. it's close enough. Anyway! Enough with the threadjack ;)

We have testing here but all the guys I know that lower the g35 have zero issue removing cats.. The testing center only pops a mirror under the car

oh just to look at things? we have machines that get hooked up to our exhaust systems to make sure we don't put out too many pollutants. just another way for Texas to get $28.50 every year lol.

I've heard of people just bolting on cats not even hooking them completely up if their station does this lol then pulling them off as soon as they leave

Sometimes all it does is make it look like more of a monster I'll be honest I hate the stock front on the 350

We have testing here too.. But you pull into a bay and they now plug into your computer to see if it's recorded bad emissions

I was looking at 350s and g35s, ended up with the s2000, mostly because it just fit me better. But when it comes down to it, you want to find the one that's been treated right.

Also, I don't know about Texas, but there's stock wrx's for days out here, and you can get a deal. Not that I'm trying to talk you out of a z though. I had a 2002 wrx and it was fun, but the interior was cheap junk and the plastic starts breaking everywheres

Hmm... that's good beta. I've been looking at the WRX and the Lancer EVO. I went with a premium rental in Florida recently just to try out a Lancer AWD to get a feel for the the chassis. I kinda liked it. Maybe I will stick with that one.

yeah subarus don't flood the market in texas as they do in other states. if a wrx or sti is for sale, consider it gone in just a couple of days
