Looking to purchase a used X-terra for $10,000 or less. Preferably a Gen 2, but a nice Gen 1 would suffice. Something with 4WD. What's an Xterra if you can't show up a jeep or FJ offroad anyway? :happy:

If anyone is aware of one for sale near the Houston area or has any websites I should take a look at, please let me know. I am eager to get one of these before summer ends so time is running out.

Welcome .. And speaking from xperiance 4wd is much better yes....but a 2wd will surprise you off road in the xterra world

Craigslist will give more local stuff, but the selection may be limited. Autotrader lets you scan a broader area with less hassle.

Carmax has one in Ft. Worth. If you pursue it, look seriously at Carmax's comprehensive warranty. I think it's called Max Care or something. It's completely worth it.

Carmax is where I bought both of my Xs. Max Care is completely worth it, as J pointed out. They just tack it on to the price. There is a deductible bit if you get any repairs done at Carmax they wave the deductible.
