Horns

I know that I am not the only person driving around in the xterra who is super embarrassed to honk their horns sound. Mine has been caked with mud, submerged in all sorts of grimy water/mud and even though it has been cleaned it still sounds like a dying goat.

I don't want to replace it with a OEM horn, I want train horns... but they aren't in the budget at the moment.

I want something loud.. but not the Dixie horn or the Mexican Hat Dance. What are some other suggestions? Any help with be greatly appreciated!

Wolo bad boy horn. It is 40$ and is a monster.. I had it on my old car. I might get one for the X, but then again I don't know if I want to kill it with mud..

I had a BadBoy on my Focus. It was indeed loud, but I liked it more because it had a sort of European sports car tone to it. Don't know if that would be proper for an Xterra. But, judge for yourself. You may want to turn your speakers down a bit. http://www.wolo-mfg.com/419-519-stereo.wav

I like that.. and if you submerge it.. well I think you might have a bigger problem.

If you still have the roof basket.. I don't see why you couldn't

I never had a roof basket due to a sun/moon-roof.

The fact that they sound more European like you said turns me off from them. I want something "mainly" sounding.. and well just to have someone hear my horn (even from 2-3 blocks away) would be great. I can't hear it between my MT's and having no exhaust after the cats. I'll have to post a video later of what they sound like. It's really sad lol.

I'm diggin the WOLO Xtreme ones. I cant find a sound clip for them though. And where in the world could I mount them.. Hmm. Both sides of my B&M light bar perhaps?

Also, you could either drill a hole in the air dam itself and bolt them to that, or use double sided exterior mounting tape on the bracket and stick em to the roof or the under side of the air dam.

you want a train horn doodle. as do i. but they are expensive! getblasted.com is the only place around here that sells them i had one on my diesel. but it was 400 bucks. if they had those "holo, or badboys" that were more train like i'd be all over them.

If i can find a sound clip for the WOLO Xtreme (red ones up there ^^^) and if they sound decent then i'll get them I have an idea for mounting them to the roof after painting them a pretty color first! lol

Go to the junk yard and take cadillac horns, there plenty loud, everytime i go to the unkyard i grab one or 2,( i may have some issues, lol) I actually have 2 hooked up right now best part was there $3 a piece lol
