I guess I should start a thread here and say hello.

I have a rare 2002 Xterra XE 5 speed with a super charger. Original owner since November 2001.

Somewhere in Moab

I have taken this Xterra to 7 goneMOABs, the 1st in 2004 when it was run with the Easter Jeep Safari and the latest in 2013. I also took it to the last GOX that when from Denver to Ouray mostly offroad. Been on many trips in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming.

I found the Xterra community on a weekend trip with my friend in 2003. We were driving on Engineer's Pass and ran into a group of Xterras headed to Ouray. They told me about XOC and said I should stop by. This group happened to be from GOX.

I joined XOC and learned about all the mods that could be done with the Xterra. Prior to XOC, I couldn't find much as far as lifts, bumpers & armor. After I order the lift & HD Sterring from Calmini, Ian Firth invited to me to his place to install it. Later that year, I went to my 1st goneMOAB with new tires and sliders, no other armor. Back then, there was only 1 run group. We did Fins & Things, 7-mile Rim, Hell's Revenge, Steel Bender & Poison Spider Mesa.

I believe 2004 was the year Jorge rolled his Xterra

It's a Colorado invasion. Bring it on! From everything I've read and seen that's an amazing state to go play off road. Welcome to the Nation.

Howdy Eric. Looks like another defector from the site that shall not be named.

Not really a defector from thenewx, I will try to stay on both sites to organize trips. That site is going through a transition much like XOC did. I stopped visiting XOC when the server crashed and we all had to re-register. The new site was not to my liking and was becoming very inactive and those that were left were childish. I hope that doesn't happen to thenewx or this site in some sort of rivalry. The taptalk thing I don't get. I have no problem accessing both these sites on a mobile browser using the desktop mode. I only joined tnx last year after I started to get back into wheeling after a few years break after the bitter split of RMXC & the founders of Ronin. RMXC died away after the split.

Is anyone else only seeing 1 picture in the 1st thread or all 4? Only one is showing for me even though I have tried a few times redoing the links.

I'm only seeing the first of the four. As for the whole newX thing, I'm with you. I find that the info there is hard to live without, but when it comes to stress free socialization without a bunch of folk throwing tantrums, this is definitely the place.

Eric, I only see your first pic, too. I agree with you about the other site. There are a few folks going overboard about it. I use tapatalk for various forums so it is an inconvenience for me but not enough to keep me away. I am drawn to the environment here though.

Welcome into XN..

Every site has a purpose... Some have years of info and some do not.. either way we all love the Xterra
and thats what matters...

For Christmas 2005, I purchased the Skid Row rear bumper and gas tank skid.

Prior to this, I had no skids other than the stock ones. After running a trail I dented the gas tank and decided since it hangs as low as it does, it might be worth some protection. This was the only skid plate I ever added, never saw a reason for the others.

The next mod was removing the plastic bumper since it was hitting everything. On the way back from goneMOAB 2005, Kevin (Alpine Spirit), Troy & I decided to take the Kokopelli Trail back to Colorado. This is an easy trail, unless it is raining. Kevin slid to a stop nearly leaving the trail down a hill. I crested the hill and saw him stopped. I hit the brakes and nothing but the dreaded abs chatter kicked in. When wet, this trail is as slick as butter, and I slowly slammed into Kev.

After pulling everything away from the radiator fan and checking for leaks, we returned to pavement and drove home. I have been intending to get a winch bumper to place the winch I won at the 2006 gone ever since. (still not on)

In the winter of 2005, I added a 2" body lift Calmini crawler gears and 33 in tires. The crawler gears were the best modification, even better than the rear locker.

In the spring of 2007, added the rear locker, and that was the last mod until 2012.

Just noticed that the site banner has two different xterras on it. Anyone else notice that the 1st gen is playing in the woods, while the 2nd gen is a city slicker?

I figured it was a scene from Breckenridge or something.
