Engine Coolant Temperature

Those of you with an S/C radiator and a Scangage or Ultragage.. what is your normal engine temperature?

I assume its reading the coolant temp at some point in the system? Normal temperature for me is 188/189.. and around 194 in the summer with the AC on. A buddy of mine says that normal operating temps for a vehicle should be betweeen 200 and 210 degrees, but I've never gotten to that high of a temp.

The reason I ask is I'm planning on switching to an e-fan setup and I'm trying to figure out if im getting the right temp readout on my ultragage so that I can set the temp that I want the fans to come on at.

I have a factory thin radiator and I am running 176 to 181 in the weather we are having right now. I just got my Ultragauge a couple months ago

Hahaha yea that screen is pretty dirty bro.. clean that junk!!

I've seen 183 on really cold mornings lately.. I think I'll end up setting it at 185 since thats a little below my normal running temp for most of the year
