Looks like it had dropped a good but! But the X looks great though. Are you happy with the new ride of decent parts and good shocks? When measured b4 the install it was 33.5 from ground to wheel well If memory serve's me , Now it's now at 36.5 so old stuff had a little sag in it !!View attachment 13200
I only drove it home sat night after install and today . Big difference now when I hit some bump's, I'm liking it Well almost , now I notice the rear end has a little more bounce then I would like . I Guess you don't notice that as much when the front is dancing around also, but now that it's not I do notice it. I hope I can use the OME shock's in the rear but only lift the back up 1.5 inch's. Debating now maybe the heavy leaf's in back so I don't got to change them later ? maybe throw some weight back their for the ride until I can get a rear carrier bumper . I don't know !!Looks like it had dropped a good but! But the X looks great though. Are you happy with the new ride of decent parts and good shocks?
All we did was the front shock's with a .5 spacer , and that took a Saturday because of all the dam rust !!Do you just have the front suspension done now?
That stinks but it's really common. Better to get new arms rather than try to salvage the stockers. Make sure they use LOTS of anti-seize on the new bolts....Well............. I'm learning the hard way, Save your $$$$ until you can replace everything at once Instead of trying to peace the front end suspension together over time like I wanted to do . IT DON'T WORK LIKE THAT !! After about 45 minutes the shop I use exhausted all form's of persuasion to get the cam bolt's out then said they could cut them off, send to a machine shop with a press and hope the rusted piece's of $$$$ lower control arm came back in a useful condition or for a few hundred more install new after market LCA's I got the LCA's . Now I only have to do the upper's..... At least I can order the SPC one's well before I need them [ fingers crossed] Hopefully when they call 2morrow it'll be only to pick it up . Wished I'd done this $hit when I was younger and not semi-retired . I almost think Odo X is a junkie and I'm just helping it get it's fix !!!!!!! Friday the 13th.... DUH
So I've read other people's build thread's and just some post's in the suspension section and now I'm wondering ??? I see a bunch of different degree angle shim's on the Nisstec site and I have to wonder is there a certain one that people with a 1.5-2 inch suspension lift or the OME Dakar leaf's and nitro shock's use ? Or is this another put it together first Xterra surprise [meaning 5 different X's use 5 diff shim's] mine is just an S model with OME suspension lift in front . Thanx for any answer's/thought's/conclusion's and other nightmare's you might haveThat stinks but it's really common. Better to get new arms rather than try to salvage the stockers. The shims are for the rear if you are experiencing a vibration related to certain speeds. If you don't have any vibrations then you won't need them. They are generally for lifts 3"+.So I've read other people's build thread's and just some post's in the suspension section and now I'm wondering ??? Thank's Terry , I ran across a post where the guy said his lift was only 1.5-2 inch's and had to shim it so I was trying to think ahead and get a list going for the rear end. Do you think the greaseable shackle's are really worth it ? Or maybe the adjustable shackle's so I could raise it back up a little when I finally get a tire holder rear bumper ?? There's merit to both. The adjustable shackles will probably be useful like you mentioned to adjust the ride height once you make changes. Plus they are tied together rather than two separate pieces like the OMEs IICR.Thank's Terry , I ran across a post where the guy said his lift was only 1.5-2 inch's and had to shim it so I was trying to think ahead and get a list going for the rear end. Good , just waiting for my friend to forward some pic's he took then I'll post the result's up later today How'd your excursion go with the trailer ?How'd the new rears work out?
Turned out good! Got some more mods planned soon.Good , just waiting for my friend to forward some pic's he took then I'll post the result's up later today How'd your excursion go with the trailer ?
I'll do that after the AAL is installed before the rear bumper would go on or see if the flip kit would work on a OME HD leaf setup. So much to do......so little money.....Lol Definitely will be checking all bolt's that were installedLooks good! You can trim those hanging ubolts with a grinding wheel pretty quickly, just thread another nut to keep from grinding too much off and you should be able to get them flat. Won't be as pretty as using a hacksaw on one of the threads but it's a heck of a lot easier than removing them again haha. After that much work it's a good idea to check the torque on all of the nuts in a week or so.
\Will my stock brake line's be all right after adding the OME AAL or should that be done first or as long as the sway bar is on I'll be good ??
That's another thing I didn't get from the shop. I'll have to see if they saved a record of it.forgot to put it in !
The back is sitting an inch and a half higher then the front right now and that's with 3/4+ tank of fuel. Here's a couple pic's . I also noticed some marker line's on all the new SPC UCA's nut's/bolt's so with just a glance you could see if something shifted or came lose. Adrenalin Offroad use's one specific tech for front end alignment's that work's at the local Goodyear tire store and I understand why as you can see in the last pic !!That's another thing I didn't get from the shop. Do you have more rake now? Pics or it didn't reaally happen, right..?
