No you don't we have been overloaded with snow lately.

Metzican's Tear drop as it is slowly getting put together

First off I love snow. I have lived in one of the snowiest places in the US before. I LOVE it!!!

Second off, It is not slowly getting put together!!!! Most people take over a year to build one. I'm doing it in half that time!!! GRRRR.

All kidding aside. I love the trip plan. I've been to most of those places before besides Seattle and LA. You will enjoy the road trip. Just remember to slow down and explore along with eat and the run down local places. There far better then the chain restaurants.

After I'm done with my road trip if you want any info about the gps tracks or anything just hit me up.

Slow for me because I keep waiting for the updates! I know its not slow at all lol

Thats the goal thats why I want to camp rather than hotel hop like the original moab trip was planned. I just posted a build for it so check the story lol

and of course, I want to adventure to the north eventually. Got to do it in stages. Cant get all the excitement in one shot lol

I completely get it. And it's awesome.

/just some envy

Thread jack, As I tell all my coworkers "it is not my fault you put it in and forgot to pull it out and created a baby!",

All joking aside we all have our own adventures that we are jealous of each other having.

Well... Traveling back up to school after going home for a short weekend. It's roughly 6 hours 330 miles. I've done it so many times with the X it was nothing new. The truck hit 119K and then the water temp shot up to 260. Thats when I pulled over and saw coolant all over the passenger side and wheelwell.

Hard to find an open shop on a Sunday.

Ended up radiator went earlier than expected. I was hoping to get a SC one in there this summer but things changed.

So here's what's happening. I'm replacing the head gasket. I have my dad's friend who's a master mechanic that will help me with it.

I decided to do it myself because I want to replace a bunch of stuff while I have the motor torn apart.

I'm upgrading to a SC radiator, quest alternator, and knock sensor. And maybe some other things

Currently in research for everything that I'm going to need to buy in a few weeks to knock this out.

-SC Radiator upgrade http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1376662&jnid=2&jpid=1
-Prob going to get my eFan set up while its all apart
-Quest Alternator Upgrade- (late 90's i believe help would be awesome)
-New Gaskets
-replace the dam knocksensor that has been throwing a code forever

any other advice what to throw in while I have the engine torn apart?

With the quest alternator... It's like late 90s (like 98 or so) till around 2004 I believe that bolts straight up and is about 120 or 130 amps. In the years after that, it's like 20 more amps or so but requires a little modification to bolt up. Something like that.

Took the hood off and front bumper and winch. i want to paint both and its tight in the garage to begin with so the more room in the front the better

So, got word back on the heads. Didn't get overheated just getting them milled and cleaned up. SO SHE WILL LIVE!

but, in the mean time the down time gives me a chance to get things done that I've been wanting to do. Like paint!
Since that plastic fender has been gone for the 33's a little bedliner cleans it up

Its weird seeing an engine spread out in your garage lol
20150523_171406_zpskvrwlwez.jpg

And took off the sliders to sandblast and repaint. I regret not getting them Powder coated but what ever. I now know why PP isnt bedlining anymore. These have been on the truck for only 5 months
