went wheeling with the upstate4x4.com crew, had free roam of the entire place. It was pretty sick actually, I had my truck on the motocross track. Also met up with 2 other X guys from NY. Good time all around

Right now I'm torn, Im getting some bad rubbing from the 33's aready trimmed the fenders. It's more rubbing when the front end bounces. It's either I go for a PML or I just hold out until next summer and go with the 3" SL.

Any Opinions?

Oh! and looking for a Stock airbox if anyones got one laying around. And a fan shroud still...

Suspension lift of any kind will not resolve the rubbing issue. You might be able to relieve some of it by adjusting the turn stops. The rest will come from more cutting.

BL can help some, but the tires get to the point where their diameter is bigger than the hole Nissan left for them. That is when you have to cut.

He's already got a body lift. The only option there would be to go to a 3 inch.

I'm betting the problem is being caused by the back spacing on those wheels paired w/ the 33s. Do you remember what it is? If it's less the 4.75 that's your problem

The fixes are new wheels, trim metal, or bigger body lift. I'm pretty sure the 1.0 and the 1.5 gen fenders are just a little different

Picked up those Craigslist skid plates. and well yea deff used lol, the guy has the front and the engine one welded together. The paint is peeling but nothing a little elbow grease and time cant fix and a fresh coat of paint.

First step clean them up and separate the 2 skids. (since they are just tack welded together)

I dont have pics yet its still sitting on the roof of my truck until I can get it into my tech labs

Contemplated welding my front to the engine, trussing it and letting it be one skid overall.

That is what this one is... Is it a PITA to get to the oil filter with the skid still on? Thats the only thing making me separate the 2. Plus I kinda need to reshape them a bit

Now for that second hand skid plate I picked up. You guys can finally have a gander at it. (Notice its one plate)

Now I'm trying to get the peeling powder coat off. Some spots it was still holding up well, others it was already rust.

I have the day off tomorrow so I'm going to spend it working on them. I'm thinking bed liner red for the new paint :)

The Ford Taurus fans are still eyeing me from the shelf. When I do those I'll be doing an entire write up from start to finish.

Still looking for a stock-ish airbox? I have my stock airbox that I had with my DIY snorkel set up. I snagged Casey's stock airbox because I wanted to back to "stock stock" (both airbox openings) since I was removing my snorkel. The front airbox opening is plugged (for snorkel), and there is a 2" PVC elbow glued into the box. It still works better than a "cold air intake". If you are brave enough to cut fender metal, you can hook a snorkel up to it pretty easily. I am taking my snorkel out because I wasn't happy with how I cut my fender...I am replacing my fender, and don't want to cut into a freshly painted fender.

As far as lifting...I have always been a fan of the adjustable shackles from 4x4parts.com and UCAs. I don't like adding leaf springs as it makes things stiffer. Revolver shackles are awesome but expensive. Adjustable shackles are maxed out at 2.125" of lift. UCAs give you ~3" in the front. It gives you some control over your rake to make sure you don't have too high of a rear end. If you already have the PML shackle...I would probably just do the PML and wait and see how much front lift you get. If you don't get much front lift, throw UCAs on later and upgrade the shackle to the slightly bigger adjustable shackle.

Thanks dude but I found one here back at home.

As for the lifting I've had your threads up all week for the PML and t-bar reindex. I just got to find the time and the confidence to take it on.

As for work on the skids, I figured out why they were welded together. The past owner stripped out the holes for the bolts.... So I grinded off the old and welded 3 new nuts on. We will see how it holds up once I get them on the truck

Andd they are all primed now to paint.

PMLs aren't bad. They are just tedious because of the adjuster bolt on the torsion bars. It can be done solo (rust permitting) in about 4.5 hours. If you haven't been, go ahead and PB that ish.
