My plan is a rack that's light enough to remove when I need the cargo space (thus the no drawers). It's going to be four legs and a shelf with railings to secure tools in removable containers. Similar to what Reggie is rocking. I'm not going to cut up the panels

its awesome, i find my self using my xterra with the gobi more around the house to get on the roof or up close to the ceiling the garage more than a ladder, much more stable hahah, in terms of bringing things with me yeah ive got room ;) i started with a dephep and after talking with our buddy chrishaynesusa i was sold on the gobi rack and it was during the group buy, if youre thinking about it do it you'll be happy, the only issue im having with it is the foam pads under the mounts seemed to migrate out for some reason i think i need to loose and push them back in to place and retighten but its not going anywhere it just needs to be done. one other thing is that im not tall you know this, but its a mighty heft to get my kayak up there haha but with the rack i can climb on top and walk around with not worries.

thanks folks, hoping for (sort of, we need more snow or water around here otherwise we'll be on the news because nevada will be burning down) a little warmer weather to get things going, IMS on its way as well as New TJM rear shocks, and I need to swap out my fronts still, they are still in good condition they just needed new bushing cause for some reason they split or something and look to be torn, I have had the replacements a while and ive been driving around with no issues, but nisstech and TJM took great care of me when i found out the issue and sent me new ones to replace them with, but when I got them I was displaced waiting on my house to be finished and had no where to work on the x, and dont have a spring compressor so its not something i can do solely on my own, i can demount and then have to go to a shop probably like 95% of the rest of us, but last time i had this done at a buddys shop, he said hed take care of it and did it all it cost me $300+ needless to say i havent spoken to him since, i could have done everything except the spring compressing part and it would have been way better off, anyway slight rant.

So Ive been looking at spring compressors if anyone has any suggestions on models there im willing to listen, cause at what i paid last time and the first time i had shocks done, i could have purchased a professional quality spring compressor, had i only known SMH

I've a set from HF. It's the kind where you attach two compressors (one each side) and take each side down a little at a time. Only used it for the one job (four struts) but worked well. Kinda wished I had ordered the slightly better model that compressed the spring in one action instead of two.

I was nervous as anything, but the springs didn't "explode" on me.

Wow Joe.. That's ridiculous!.. I just got my sway a way 2.5s rebuilt for 60 bucks a piece... You should go kick that "buddy" in the sack and tell him he owes you another rebuild..

yeah id like a single action one its scary enough to deal with springs at all,

CRAP! Took off my rear driver side shackle, well that is to say i disconnected the top and then realized i dont have a bottle jack to stretch the leaf in to position! FML then i couldnt get the shackle loose to put the bolt back, BAH!!!! Jack and pry bar to the rescue, got it back in place, shackle readjustment will have to wait until next weekend or sunday if the softball tourney doesnt go well.

Nighthog - now more shocky!

Thanks bud, lights have though have been there since I got the gobi, photo was for the new sticker up top, first and probably the last to go in the gobi fairing. Considering removing the gobi sticker,

shackle hight relocation is on hold for a bit, just had 2 days of softball tourney and I'm freaking beat!

I recommend replacing the intake gasket, mine is leaking from there after removing the IMS, and I also need to replace cats. Perhaps a good time to change spark plugs as well

well one less thing to do since the 5 switch panel conversion wouldnt work for me, now i have to see if i can relocate 1 or 2 of my switches to a different location, considering using something similar to what Kuma is doing with his switches by the shifter but under the mirror adjustments, wondering how good my cutting skills are with a razor blade. Gotta make room for my next addition and i want to be able to add a switch for side lights too, awaiting delivery for a few things, Only 5 weekends available for me to wrench until moab. Id like to have these things done prior!
