Big_THanks Teardrop build

[Big_THanks]

I purchased this old camper for $100 from an old man who left it to rot on his land. He used it for hunting which is why it's spray painted green. There is also a rear kitchen.

My plan is to tear down and rebuild on the frame a teardrop style camper. I am going to try and salvage some of the parts though if possible.

Here is what I am going for roughly

Removed all windows and doors to salvage some parts.

Then it was time to get barbaric. After first cutting up the frame and supports we decided to flip it with the X and remove our frame.

Here is our frame for the new teardrop. Now time to bust rust and paint it.

This will most likely be a long process but I can't wait until it actually starts coming together. I am also glad to listen to any ideas you guys may have since this is a complete first to me.

On a side note I picked up a little 90 amp welder for dirt cheap through a little connection I have. I figured it may come in handy for small things in the build.

Nice job man. Not much progress here finds are tight for the trailer at the moment. All I've done so far is a little repair welding to the frame and I have primed the frame for paint.

Feel free to chime in lol maybe that way it will get updated more often.

I'm going the route of the ultimate budget build so mine is going slow. Nothing fancy going in this one.

Same here. I lucked out and found a torsion axle for $20, paid $100 for the steel used on the trailer frame, got the coupler for free, and paid $40 for a set of 4 rims.

Good deal. I've only got $100 bucks in mine so far. I can't decide whether or not to frame in wood or do a steel skeleton. Either way it will be built with wood.

I was thinking about that as well, and I think I will frame with wood. I don't have metal working equipment with me at college but have plenty of stuff for working with wood.

I was thinking of wood vs steel for framing, I think wood is better. Alot easier to attach stuff to in the end. And don't have to worry about in wall rust.
