Ive been dreading posting this because I'm in denial its happening. Sometimes (usually once a day or every other day) while driving down the road between 40-50 mph my X shifts gears, its a auto tranny. When it does this it usually happens at low rpms like I'm done accelerating because the speed limit is 45. Well sometimes it makes a rumble noise...almost like you are driving over one of those rumble strips they install to slow you down. Whats happening here...?

almost like a speed wobble? could be alignment, maybe one of your rims came unbalanced also. that's happened to me before.

It sounds like running over one of these things

I don't think it has to do with my balance because my jeep had the death wobble at 43 mph and my dads truck needs a balance cause it shakes bad around 40mph and I can hold it at a certain speed and it does it continuously. Plus if it was a bad alignment or balance I would think I would be able to hold it at a certain speed and it do it continuously just like the jeep and truck do/did.

This isn't like a shake the car up and down or side to side its just a rumble.

Last summer my radiator was leaking but I haven't noticed it leaking any lately.

Check your transmission fluid. Make sure it's got enough in it and that it is a pretty red color. Brown like used motor oil is BAD.
