Hello everyone,
My name is Steve and I currently reside in Newnan, Ga which is about ~20 minutes south of Atlanta. Originally being from Utah, I've had a few trips on the unpaved roads of Moab during a Jeep Jamboree. My dad and I went out to purchase a hitch for the Mazda MPV my parents owned at the time and ended up coming home with a brand new '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Talk about an expensive hitch. lol.
I purchased my first Xterra on Thursday (3/15) from Gillman Subaru in Houston, Tx. The wife and I already had plans to be out there that weekend for TX2K12 which just so happened to be our rescue vehicle. Why? To keep a long story short, we drove my mildly-modified WRX to Houston and on our way back to the hotel from the dealership, the car somehow had an engine fire. Not having a fire extinguisher on hand like I should have, I literally had to watch the car burn to a crisp helplessly. I never want to experience this again.
On a happier note, my Xterra is a 2003 in Atomic Orange. It's an XE/SE (based on what the sticker says) with a 5-spd and 4WD. I'm one to buy odd color cars and after seeing the AO for the first time, I knew that was the color I had to have. The majority of the AO's in 4WD I found were in northern states and had rust which is not what I wanted. This gem popped up so I bought it sight unseen. Hell, I had not even seen the color in person or even driven an Xterra before picking this up. I can honestly say, it's pretty kickass and can't wait to enjoy it the way it's mean't to be. We already plan on attending the NXM in September but I need to purchase a couple things to make it more worthy of the trip (skid protection, tires, etc). I removed the side steps and mud flaps the third or fourth day of owning it.
Anyways, I apologize for the lengthy introduction thread and I hope to meet some of you guys in the future.
