Add a fuse product?

Never used these. You could just add an auxiliary Blue Sea fuse panel, hard wired to the battery with an inline fuse. That's how I, and many other people, have wired up lights and cbs and many other things.

Do you have an example of the product you are talking about? I think I may have seen it before but if you have some examples that would help.

Do you happen to have a photo of how you wire up your electrical stuff? I am trying to figure out how I want to wire up off road lights to my xterra (1st gen). I like the idea of the blue sea box. However, not quite sure how to route the electrical. Also could I take my existing power cable that is running from my battery to my subwoofer and run that through the blue sea fuse box as well?
Blue sea, the best and safest way to add any electrical accessory. I have 2 separate BS fuse blocks

I have a blue sea box mounted on top of my engine fuse box cover. Switch wiring goes through the left grommet, nearest the driver and is zip tied along the AC line for support. Relays are on the side of the engine compartment, between the fuses and the cruise control actuator. High current lines are run as needed, but mostly enter the cab via the passenger grommet.

On the first gen the passenger grommet seems nearly impossible to access on the inside. Where are you accessing it once the wires are in the cab? I know the glovebox comes out but besides that is all the a/c and blower motor components. I ended up routing my power line for my sub through the driver side grommet because of this.

I will not say don't use this. I did with great results. What I did was add this on so that it triggers a relay to turn on all my other switch circuits when the vehicle is running or ignition is on depending on what circuit is on. This way when the vehicle is off everything I want off is off. Use these as triggering relays since the vehicle already has the circuits. Unless you want to figure out a wire that is tripped on and use that to run a relay.

I have a feeling like this is very confusing. Note: do no use it to directly power a high amp circuit just a relay.

Not hard; all connections are #6 screws on top.

There is also a clear cover (not pictured). This one is a 6 circuit with a ground bus.

Still send me a photo of your setup. I can at least get a general idea. How hard is it to wire up the blue sea fuse panel?

Its easy. Just run a decent sized power cable to the terminal. I forget what I used, maybe 4 awg and I also put a 100 amp circuit breaker on that too. Once you do that just wire up what you want and put a fuse in.

In response to the OP, i have used those to just power the switch not the circuit itself, all of the switches that I use are lit when on but the draw for them is neg at best. all of the power is still run through a relay under the hood. Small fuse blocks are a great way to simplify the wiring coming off the the battery. The need for them to be water proof is way over rated, the rest of the fuses in your truck are not water proof in any way and they work just fine.

As for pulling wire... get a piece of thicker wire and push it through or a wire hanger. Then tape the wire to it and pull it back through dont bother trying to push the wire through its a nightmare and this leaves a very small hole that will reseal around the wire. Works on driver or passenger side.

I have some brazing rods that I use for that, easier to bend than coat hangers, and I can always find then in the garage. coat hangers not so much, i can only find the plastic ones around the house.

This is why I like this forum so much. Thanks guys that has helped me a ton! I'm going to order some lights and a blue sea fuse box in a few weeks. This has made it way easier to figure out what I should do in terms of wiring. Speaking of lights what do y'all recommend for decent light output and durability? Should I go led light bar or classic KC style lights? Whatever is the cheapest and still works without sacrificing durability/reliability is what I am looking for.

LED is the best, followed by HID, and the old standard H3 bulb brings up the rear. They are also in that order for price , led is the most, HID in the middle and your KC bringing up the rear.

A 35 watt HID will put out more light than the 130W kc and the price has come down considerably in the last couple of years.

If you have a lot of trees where you wheel, dont get to attached to any lighting that you put up there.

Haha yea that was going to be my next question. Right after I bought my xterra I put some 31" bfg all terrains on it. Took it out wheeling and underestimated how tall it is with the wind deflector. Needless to say a branch smacked the crap out of the roof rack so if I had lights up there they would of been knocked off. Is there any particular brands you are more likely to buy than others?
