so i got on TNX today and bought PRG 2" strut spacers. there is a guy on fb selling 1.5" rear shackles for the price of shipping so i can't really pass that up. just thought i would say that. seems kinda cool to me to finally get a little taller for like $70

You got the parts to a PML man, sounds good. I run that currently, works great and gives you some enough clearance to want to play harder on the trails.

Just be aware you will get CBC. It's not a big deal at all, just don't go flying over speed bumps and you will be fine.

Dang, I was gonna snatch these up when I first saw them. Thought I'd wait til I get more parts lined up.

Yeah, I've been reading about CBC a little with stock UCAs.

If you do have coil bucket contact, I HIGHLY recommend getting bump stops. CBC overtime can indeed lead to weakened UCA's and they can snap.

Every vehicle varies. It is still possible with 2" but not as likely. Keep an eye and ear out for it. If it happens, bump stops are fairly cheap.

I step away for like 5 mins . . dang, lol

No, you will still get some contact, it's nothing major though man. I only notice it when I hit a speed bump too hard. Really, it's nothing to deter you at all. If you aren't made aware though, that first time you hear it you will want to step out and check things.

Don't let it deter you dude, run it. A lot of us do, they are a great way to get into lifting the rig on a budge. Heck, I have 3 inche ones I am wanting to install. I just need an AAL first.

I've got 3" spacers and there is a lot of CBC. I need to install my bump stops though. Won't help that much but it'll ease it a tiny bit. But I love the way my truck looks and I also push it a little harder on the trails.

Yes sir, it's not a big deal and you might not even notice right away. But if you look, your tires will look a bit like this

\---/

When you go get an alignment they will tell you to get the new bolts.

Hmm, I don't know if the 1st gens had this issue.

But when you lift a 2nd gen you need to get the adjustable camber bolts. Or else you cannot get aligned. They are longer, or, something like that.

That is the part I don't understand.

Anyway, these on RA look to be the same as the ones on Nisstec. The MOOG, RAYBESTOS, and ACDELCO descriptions all say +/- 2* of camber/castor. In other words, Nisstec may be attempting to make some profit on theirs (assuming the price does not include shipping).

I wish I had known to check the other places. I mean, I don't mind b/c Nisstec them to me in like 2 days, plus with our lil discount.

I think the stock ones just are lift friendly, or whatever. If you look at all the kits that people make (Nisstec, PRG, Calmini) for the 2nd gets they include these bolts.

I should have compared the stock ones to new ones when we did that lift a month back. Really the only information I have in regards to them being different is the internet.

Man, I have so much time to kill during the day, some days, that I research parts just for gits and shiggles.

The problem I have with buying from Nisstec, or PRG really, is the price markup on small things like this. I don't need to go to a dealership or a larger aftermarket site for a standard 14mm bolt (driveshaft bolts) when I can go to ACE, or the like, and find the same dang thing for $1 less AND in a higher Grade 8 or Class 12.9 quality.

I need to learn things like this. I would have really never thought to check that. Well, except when it came to my bolts for my skids.
But that is good know for real. I know the camber bolts are oddly shaped though, like the half moon shape.

are camber bolts found at ace or autozone? they're like $50 with a kit on nisstec

They're $56.99 + shipping with the Nisstec code for four (4).

Rock Auto: $50.70 shipped (to my address in AL).

Parts Geek: $56.31 shipped (flat)

PRG: $69.00 (I think his prices are shipped)

Note, the two from Parts Geek and Rock Auto are sold in pairs (2 bolts) and prices reflect the price of two pairs (4). Additionally, these two are also from MOOG. i cannot speak for PRG or Nisstec.

If there is, in fact, something unique about the Nisstec bolts that allows for more adjustment than OEM, it's a specialty item. At that point you get it from a specialist retailer. If it's the same bolt you can get from the Stealership, I would seriously consider getting them there. I had to get new camber bolts for my lift and the OE ones from the dealer were $10 cheaper than anywhere I could get them online. And they had them in stock.

You need camber bolts.. They no longer add then at the factory and will need to be installed to help bring the lifted truck back to the correct specs.
If you do not add them you will chew up tires pretty quickly.
