Why not drive over and pick them up?Alcan sent me an email. Springs should be ready to ship next week. Can't wait to see what that's going to cost. haha.
I thought about it. But with the cost of the gas, it'd be about a wash. plus time it takes. Why not drive over and pick them up?
Yeah, the DepHep basket I bought from a guy over there cost me $300 + 3 tanks of gas.... when gas was down around $2.50ish.I thought about it. But with the cost of the gas, it'd be about a wash. plus time it takes.
I ain't to 'stute. Cain ya'll tell me a-what-sa missin'?One step forward, two steps back.
Got one of the lowers in. Enough anti sieze to choke a horse.

Again, the astute among you will notice something missing.

It's going back to the shop that did the gears.
Front Diff.I ain't to 'stute. Cain ya'll tell me a-what-sa missin'?
SPRINGTIME!!!!!! Uh... a bit late with the seasons aren't you??
That's how I had it originally. But the end of the bolt was almost touching the half shaft. You might want to turn that lower shock bolt the other way.... you get less shiat on the threads, and it'll be easier to take off later.
Almost only counts in Horseshoes and hand grenades. But the end of the bolt was almost touching the half shaft.
shiat is brand new under there. I'm super excited. One more infusion of OE parts and my stainless brake lines and I'm ready to put the front on the ground.Looking brand new under there! You must be stoked!
That's not a terrible idea.Maybe you can find a rubber vacuum cap that will snuggly fit on the threads? Fill it with anti seize to prevent corrosion.
Dang it I don’t know why I didn’t think of that sooner. I have caps on my flipped ubolts “knowing” it’s gonna get ate up but thinking it’s worth it to not tear up the bump stop. I need to go add some.Maybe you can find a rubber vacuum cap that will snuggly fit on the threads? Fill it with anti seize to prevent corrosion.

Look at that. If I flip it around the end of the bolt will be under the half shaft. And that's a geometry problem.
Next time go steal [ I mean borrow ] The umbrella from your neighbor's picnic table for shade . It'll keep those nasty ray's off you ,the beer cooler and the tool's !!So I did a thing. The front isn't back together yet. I still have leaky brake lines and my front soft lines haven't arrived yet. But I wanted progress.
So I put the front wheels back on so I could remove the rear wheels and put the alcans in.

It's tall! Really tall! I'd say borderline stupid tall! I know it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high. But it looks ufcking amazing. I'll adjust it down once I'm on level ground.

And the clearances. There is no way I could run a wider tire on these OE rims.

It's pretty perfect.
Anyway, it was hot as ufck today. So I had to build a shelter against the sun while I installed the Alcans.

I'm not putting the rear down yet tho. I need to adjust the parking brake. Then of course, once I fix all of the leaking brake lines I'll have to take each wheel off and bleed everything.
Jesus. That thing looks awesome. When are you planning on doing the Rubicon? So I did a thing. The front isn't back together yet. I still have leaky brake lines and my front soft lines haven't arrived yet. But I wanted progress.
