In the JR carbine the firing pin , has a slap type fire pin setup, where as the hammer hits the firing pin, it slaps the firing pin forward, hitting the prime....for a better lack of words...not like a traditional type firing pin setup, where as the pin is hit and held forward , by the hammer, on the primer. They will tell you at JR that it is a safety thing.
filing down the hammer end a try. if I need to buy a new firing pin, retainer, and spring is only going to cost around $14. the shipping is going to cost more for these parts.

The GF saw a stray dog playing with ours through the fence this morning......so now we have another dog in our yard.....it seems to play well with ours but we know nothing about it so i stood guard when we had to let ours out again ready to "defend" them.
She says she can take care of the problem should it arise but i dont know she really could and would definitely feel bad.

Well went back to the range. The carbine worked. Out 150 rounds through it with out a single issue. Was a success full 2.5 hours spent at the range

After a day of trying to get the dog to some rescue one neighbor asked another if it was theirs..... it was. Ive told the GF that we're not bringing anymore dogs in cause this was a stupid ordeal where no one would take it. If the owners hadn't gotten it i was going to leave the gate open and if it left then it was no longer my problem
