Again this is awesome. Keep up the great work on this beast. I'm excited to see the dyno results as well.

Sent via my walkie talkie

Thanks, and yes...dyno results are a must. I'm hoping for 200hp and close to 500 ft lbs at the wheels. Time will tell but I've spent a lot of time researching and a lot of money in parts to get here haha.

Is it just the angle of the picture (the last one), or is the gas pedal really really close to the bell housing? by the time you get a heat shield in there and sheet metal, it looks like it could interfere with pushing the pedal. If its just the angle, and there's no problem, please ignore this comment :tunes:

Also, speaking of sheet metal, I do not envy the work you are going to have to do on that floor in the cab ;)

The build is looking good though! Can't wait to see it at Moab. What trails are you planning on running?

You are right, it is really close to the bell housing but mostly only when full pressed. So I will be making a stopper for it before it gets to the point where it would interfere with the floor and should still be able to get full throttle out of it as the throw of the linkage on my injection pump is not super far.
As for Moab I haven't decided what trails I'm gonna run yet, haven't really looked to see what trails are being run the days I'll be there

Started getting the floor back together yesterday and also did a brake master cyl swap over to a 98 dodge 1500 setup, it is much larger and should provide the necessary fluid flow for my huge dual piston front calipers and rear single piston calipers. Also yanked the ABS box and this is where my electric vacuum pump and line lock for the rear brakes will mount.

Also if you swap out the master cyl the dodge unit bolts right to the xterra brake booster but uses bubble flared lines instead of inverted flare lines. So on the front brake line you will need a m10x1.0 bubble flare to m10x1.0 inverted flare adapter and on the rear brake line you will need a m12x1.0 bubble flare to m10x1.0 inverted flare adapter.

Any updates on this awesomeness?
Progress is slow and somewhat steady haha. Got the fiberglass painted and have been trying to tie up the rear brakes so I can get the lines bled. Have been crazy busy lately with too much other crap. But once the brakes are finished then it's finish the floor/dash and interior, mount and plumb the intercooler and build the exhaust. Then it's just a matter of tying up the little things

This thing still a project or wheeling? I want to see how well it works.

Still a project for now. Haven't touched it in a couple months. Hope to get back on it and make some serious progress towards finishing it up in September

Is it just me, or does it look like that shock doesn't allow for very much uptravel? It may just be the angle of the photograph, but it seems that shock is gonna top out way before the axle hits the bump stops.

Flex out your rear axle slowly and watch for the shaft in relation to your spring plate, it looks like it might hit at full bump on one side and full droop on the other. Most people don't look for that, just full bump and full droop.

You are right, there is not a lot of room for up travel but surprisingly that's all the more shock shaft I need for up travel from ride height. It will stuff a tire and still not bottom the shock.

Edit: the bump stop is actually not a good reference as it still needs to be moved down some or the tire will be eating sheet metal at full stuff

I will watch for that, I had not considered it so I will def pay close attention when i flex it next.

so how close are when to first start up of the 4bt and first drive?
I actually fired the 4BT up back in March, there are a couple of videos in the bottom of post #4, didn't run extensively but it has been fired. I'm probably 4-6 weeks out from first drive and my current pace, trying to hustle it along but d@mn if life don't get in the way.
