Aren't those the cupholder lights? I thought about trying to mod something up when I was working on my lights.
The ones in the 2012 Ford Explorer is what I was looking at doing though. Its a ring rather than just a LED festoon. They look like these:

yes they are the cupholder lights. They change colors too. The one led would be easier and look better I think. The whole ring seems a little overdone. That's just my opinion though

well as usual Im running out of time, I have a ton to do to the xterra before nxm and no time to do it. This weekend I some how need to find time to close on my house, move, find all my spare parts, and change my oils, filters, clean it up a bit, install a temp gauge, go through all my wiring and attempt to get back abs (long story), buy a few trail spares, mount my high lift somewhere, then drive to tn... its going to be a long weekend, but totally worth it for nxm and some sweet NXM Action!!!
