I saw your post the other day about it. Hopefully it gets taken care of sooner than later. That's a pretty gnarly scratch though, maybe they'll just replace the whole door

Ordered new plate lights from Oznium and resisted the urge to buy a bunch of other stuff from them for no real reason. #Proud

My el cheapo plate light from AutoZone is already failing, right on schedule.

Got the laptop involved to download root and upgrade images and an Airport Express to extend my wifi network (the built in wifi in the streo is really weak):

Old interface looked like this (forgot to take before pic, but this unit is using the same Android image):

Now looks like this:

Not hard at all. Download the apk on the page I link below, copy it to a MicroSD, and run it using a file manager app on the head unit. Bob's your uncle.

Keep in mind it's all in Chinese and you can't read it (unless you happen to read Mandirin, in which case you can ignore this), but it will give you superuser access when it is done running.

Did you run the root after you upgraded to 4.4.4? Because the instructions for the root master in post 1 of that says it only works on 4.2.x platforms. Or did you have to rebuild the root kit as it lists in the instructions?

Oh, no. My bad. I rooted before the update in order to perform a TWRP backup before I updated. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.

Replaced my crappy plate light with some LED bolts from Oznium

And built this to secure my goodies (ok I added it 2 weeks ago but I had to try it before I shared it. It's been working great)

started the day thinking that I was going to do a quick front half shaft swap, I thought that I had a new one in the garage. Turned out that it was a trail spare that I had not rebuilt yet. Only noticed that after it was all apart, but was able to get a new one less than seven miles away and it is already installed. Now just an oil change and ready for went.

I like this. Do you have to thread the wires through the plate?

Yes, the wires come straight out the center of the bolts. The bolts are about 5/16" in diameter, so I had to drill out the holes in both the bumper and the plate.

I will say, they aren't very bright. I went with warm white to avoid the "ricer" look and to more-closely match the OE incandescents, but they're very dim. I'm thinking it may be my wiring adding too much resistance, I didn't have any small gage wiring on hand like I thought I did so I just used what I had.

Got yet another item from Blue Ridge Overland Gear. Love their stuff! Technically I got 2 bags, but I got their "large" recovery bag, which is holding 2 straps, tire repair kit, arb hose and tire inflator. Got a little hook and loop bag to stick to the outside to hold all the fittings for the compressor. Not super pumped about that, but I couldn't find a bag for just that stupid hose and inflator. Everything was either too big or too small.

They have some small "first aid kits" that attach to the back of your head rest, maybe something like that?

I'm hoping there isn't any problems w/ my alignment! Fingers crossed! I called about 10+ shops trying to find someone who could do my alignment asap and no one would be willing to grind the coil bucket for clearance.

I'm a little confused by this. You didn't grind before finishing up install?

Yea they have 2 bags that are specific to first aid - 1 is very large and is more like a tool bag. The other is the one I have, check it out here: http://www.blueridgeoverlandgear.com/Hook-Loop-IFAK-Kit-Bag-p/21ifak-v.htm

F
or that one - instead of hooking it to the headrest velcro thing they sell, I just popped off the headrest and put the loop around one of the posts, then put it back on. Also I would suggest buying 2 smaller hook and loop pouches to add inside it.
