I know there are good people left. I learned a lot over there when I had my first X, and most of the stuff I learned came from the same 4 or 5 people.

I guess its a product of there being so many more members over there. More posts, more useless garbage to wade through, more members. The more people we get into Xterras the better for us, but I kind of like the size of XN. Not so big that its hard to find stuff, but not so small that its always sitting stagnant.

We have our garbage here to *cough*thisThread*cough*. Sorry, had to clear my throat. But we have a good community that can keep it in check.

I wonder if HIDs will/are breaking down the plastic front on my headlights.

My passenger side one is all shotty looking now and looks like a crack is starting to develop.

I wouldn't be surprised. Especially if you didn't do anything to protect the plastic. Once the lenses start to weather the rough surface will retain more heat due to the increased surface area. That's why I put those heavy laminate films over mine. So they never weather.

My question is, if they can put a v8 in the Pathy, why hasn't anyone dropped one into a 2nd Gen X or Fronty? It's the same platform, and the dimensions aren't that different.

My guess is cost. Obviously the engine isn't cheap, then the ecu. But you aren't done there, because the X cooling system won't cut it. Needless to say the c200k diff would have to go, as would the r180. So now you are talking about a FULL titan swap. Much stiffer springs up front for the additional weight. Upgraded brakes for sure. Then comes the exciting part of plumbing things like the intake and fuel lines and all of that jargon. It would be awesome no doubt, but you would have probably 20k in the swap. Not to mention if you are going that far why not throw a SAS in there while you are at it. .........now my head hurts.
