DIY bedliner is cheap and can be touched up at home, powder coat is expensive and can't be touched up, Line-X is also expensive but with the lifetime warranty touch ups are not my problem.

Until they bend you over because they don't warranty anything but in the BED so that if you scrape it on a rock or anything you get to pay for the fix...exactly what I was told by local line-x and rhino liner installation places.

Ditto.

Local line-x place said the same if they would have done the outside of the X like I have it done now.

If you like skin removal go with the Herculiner, if not then Raptor Liner. Both can be touched up quickly and at home.

If you brush on, I'm pretty happy with the duplicolor bed armor...it's stuck like stone to my hood, and it's survived pretty well, I know Dave wasn't impressed, but it's been good...

Started prep work. I'll have the switches wired in today to the contactor relay for the winch.

I wasn't able to use that double switch cage I had planned on because of the fastening mechanism of the trim panel. But it made for a good template.

Got the Gigglepin relay installed. Tucked quite nicely behind the cruise control module.

Mmmmm or monstaliner to match

Yeah, but it won't.

I think I've decided. Bedliner just wouldn't match ANYTHING else on the truck except the dephep. Which is barely noticeable. All of my body surfaces are smooth. So the bumper needs to be too. The different surface texture would annoy the crap out of me.

It's going to coat some coin, but flat black powder coat is going to be the way to go. I'm going to have them do the fairlead in body matched blue as well.

That's a good plan. I wish my fairlead was more professionally done. It's chipping a bit from where the winch goes in.. It looks good from a distance though!

Well, that's the thing, powder coat is going to wear off just like anodizing would. It **should* be good for a while, since with synth line it's suggested that you always pull straight instead of on an angle/to the side....

Yeah. I did some reading on that. With powder coating a fairlead, the can lay down extra on the opening and it will hold up reasonably well. Plus the smoothness of the powder plays nice with the synthetic line.

See my problem.... With my winch line, it has a metal thing around the line where the hook is and when I tighten it up for travel, it digs into the fairlead..

You can kinda see it here..

There's an easy solution, change the hook out for a thimble...

Bumper came in today. Couldn't pick it up from ups. Didn't have room. I'll get it and drop it at the powdercoater tomorrow.

Because there's nothing to take pictures of at the moment. The bumper is sitting at my ups store in plastic wrap. There will be pictures today.

There is however tragedy. It looks like FedEx is going to reimburse me for the bumper.
