If I get rid of it I'd be keeping my headlights, sub, cb and that might be it. I kinda open to any options right now until I decide what to do

Brought the X home from the dealership today. My dads friend is in charge of service so Id like to trust that he's being honest with us. He's quoting around $2K and thats for both head gaskets valve covers thermostat water pump sending the heads to get checked and whatever else they do. Also I asked about the timing belt and he said they could do that while they're in there for probably the price of the kit. Obviously if the find a cracked head or something its gonna run me more but what are your opinions on that quote and if you think I should do that or not?

I talked to one local shop so far, again some one we have experience with in the past with other vehicles, and he said that actually wasn't a bad quote that he'd consider going that route with all genuine Nissan parts.

Doesn't seem to bad hearing what you described. A plus is getting the genuine Nissan parts, they are made in the USA at least and not the aftermarket china stuff from autozone and other stores... Honestly just need to weigh some pro's/con's about spending the money to repair vs parting out return value and getting a new rig which I saw you mention earlier up in posts I think...Good luck with your decision though, whatever route you take.

Here's where I'm at I graduate next year so my plan all along has been to buy a newer vehicle then. Right now I couldn't afford what I want so Im kinda thinking $2k or so to fix my X to run for another year or so is a smarter choice than dropping $8-10K on another vehicle that I wouldn't keep more than a couple years.

I agree with that. Make the X last as long as u can since I'm assuming it's paid off? That way you'll be able to save afterwards for the rig that you really want and not have to settle.

UPDATE: I was at the dealership talking to the service manager and he actually set me up with the one mechanic who works on his familys and friends vehicles on the side. This mechanic is going to fix my X for pretty much half what Id be paying if I was doing it through the dealership. Hes going to use the dealership facilities and tools just work on it after hours and over the weekend. So the same guy whod be working on it either way will be doing it for half price just on the side

The bedliner turned out great I wish I would have done that instead of the satin black two years ago. Im also thinking of adding some LEDs like a 20" bar on my front bumper with duallys in the foglight holes and a set of duallys in the rear for back up lights.

I like the texture of your front bumper...so Duplicolor, you say? I thought about going back to Krylon plastic but I just love that flat black.

I like the look of the bed liner so much better than the satin black I previously had. It has more of a rugged type look to it but also just flows with the rest of the vehicle better.

Maudeeb I dont really get the reference so I kinda feel dumb hahaha

Wired up some new switches today. Far left is the roof lights, second switch is the fogs on the bumper that I am moving to the roof on the back once My LEDs come, the third switch will be for the LED bar, the fourth will be for the set of Duallys Im putting in the back bumper, and the set of Duallys in the front fog light slots will use the factory wiring and utilize the factory fog light switch.

Some night shots. I need a longer stretch of road than the street in front of my house.

Just the headlights with the fogs on

Just the roof bar

Just the bumper bar

Both bars together, no headlights

Backup lights

Just a shot of everything

Daaaaaaang, dude. That thing looks wicked! A while ago, I thought that round lights looked better on the 1st Gens and the square LEDs looked better on the 2nd Gens, but I never really saw the LEDs on the TRUE 1st Gen, the 1.0. I like the square flowing with the square headlights. Looks like it belongs :)
