Check the prices and currency conversions. ARB is HQ'd in Australia. Maybe contact a local reseller there over teh Intarwebs and see if you can do a local pickup or shipping in that country and see if it'll be cheaper. That's a heavy bit of kit to be bringing on an airplane when he comes to visit, but he MIT be able to FedEx or UPS it to you for a reasonable rate.

Check it out. Might be worth it.

I recommend that a black foam piece be inserted between the A pillar mount bracket and the snork.
or that rubber grommets or washers be inserted as well.

THe A-pillar and the fender are on different vibration planes. This may not have been a big issue on gen 1's but they have the same two vibration planes as gen two's.

Just out of curiosity where did the original poster of this thread get his light bar? I am looking to do a setup similar to it on my gen 1 xterra. I like that you can have roof lights while still being able to fully use the roof rack. I put kayaks and other things on my roof rack that would otherwise knock off the lights if I were to mount them over the wind deflector. So, that light bar hanging out in front of it gives me the ability to still use the roof rack. Definitely interested in buying one if someone can tell me if it will fit my 01 xterra and where I could get it from.

So for everyone running a snork what's your opinion on having so much of it exposed on the fender vs hid behind the fender.

If you can do a good job of cutting the fender for a pipe to come up in the back then I can go either way. I've seen some tragedy DiY snorkels.

The over the counter ones just have a more fit and finished look.

Unless you're Steeze. Then all that **** looks like it was professionally made.

Yeah Steeze doesn't count. I wasn't necessarily thinking come straight up near the hood/fender split but more of a just make it a smaller section exposed on the fender.

I would be interested to see how that would work. Any reference pictures?

I've seen it just looking around on the internet on other 4x4 vehicles. Instead of the hole being really close to the air intake you plumb it farther away before bringing it onto the fender. After that point it looks just like a normal snorkel.
