When I installed my ARB snorkel to my stock airbox, I used a silicone reducer(3.25"-2.5") and this allowed me to plumb it perfectly from snorkel to stock airbox. Made a nice tight fit.

Used these guys for the silicon bits, siliconeintakes.com

The only problem I have committing to a snorkel, is that I have a Volant CAI with a huge opening that rests against the engine bay fender.

I sent volant an email requesting a solution and still waiting for a reply.

Doesn't Dave still have his Volant?

Not saying this is the answer but McMaster-Carr has all kinds of TUBING. Surely there must be something that could help...if your willing to pay for it...lol

He does and he hasn't connected it to the snorkel.

It's a rectangular opening with a radius at each corner.

I thought so too. Did not see it on their site. They do have a scoop thing, but that is for a different box and totally different from a snorkel setup.

And then connected that piece to flex tube by inserting flex tube inside it

bThanks...Here I go...

Snorks on but not plumbed. The space is too small for what I have to make the turn. Even the piece that came with it is too wide. Gonna have to cut and hammer in the inner fender. I see why some folks went with 2" tubing but I'm determined to use 3".

Starting to snow here so I'll take a few pics, and put the fender back on. Does 1/2 of mod count?...lol

I used the 3" but you will have to for sure smash the inner fender in. I only had to smash the part that is right where the snorkel goes in. Tight fit but it worked. I couldn't get the piece that came with it to work. Plus I feel like you really can tighten it down without glueing which would prevent future removal.

Yea your right. The tube is too wide. I test fitted the piece with the Snork and used a hose clamp. I couldn't tighten it enough to keep it on. Figured it would crack the plastic if I kept going. I bought some epoxy just in case so now just gotta wait for Spring.

Huh - worked fine for me, but then I got the polyethylene snork for the navara, not the fiberglas one y'all got, so maybe that was the difference. I got it on nice and tight, and didn't have to hammer my inner fender. Plus, with how tight a fit it was, it aint going NOWHERES...

I fitted it on there with the fender on the truck, and it took some doing to get it lipped all the way around, but once on it was on good

I was driving in a blizzard, I turned the scoop around and it's fine now,
Snow lines the tube all the way to the filter, but everything still ran fine.

I just unhooked the pipe from the filter and let it all melt over night and dried it out this morning and sprayed a little oil on the filter

yeah, thats why I hooked it up with the flex. The elbow that comes with it wouldn't tighten down on there. As far as making room for the plumbing I just cut out the bracing inside the fender to make room.

Wanted one since even before I had the X. Had one on the old YJ and know how important they can be sometimes. Since no one makes a snorkel for our trucks and it has to be fiddled with anyway, why would anyone pay more than twice as much to get the one from AC? And if people are willing to pay twice as much, I'll order all of these at $180 that I can get my hands on. heh.
