Xybergeek - ACV (Armored Camp Vehicle)

Year: 2010
Model: Xterra S
Color: Knight Armor
Mods: Break Controller, Firestone Air Springs, Hefty Fabworks skid plates, Heft Fabworks sliders, DepHep roof rack, locking wet box, auto-dimming mirror w/temp and compass.
To Do: Gobi Ladder, Rex Rug mod.
Wish list: OME light suspension lift. Hefty Fabworks front bumper.

We bought the Xterra primarily to tow our popup camper, so most of the mods have been geared toward that. I was surprised by how well it handled off-road just stock, and have added only a few mods to help in light off-roading.

If you're gonna run a hefty front bumper I'd consider the hd ome springs. I'm not speaking from experience rather from research done. You've got the same goals for yours as I do, great camping rig.

Yep, that is a DepHep rack up top.

Without the Hefty bumper, I am thinking OME light to get the ride back to stock hieght after skids and sliders. With the Hefty bumper, I have not made up my mind yet.

Yeah, I am kind of surprised people don't use their Xterra for camping like we do. I didn't see another Xterra camping while we were out for two weeks. Saw lots of the same model trucks, and bigger SUV's, but no X's. The Xterra is one of the most affordable body-on-frame vehicles you can buy - great for towing medium sized trailers like ours. Nissan should play that up in their adds.

^Agreed!

You see X's everywhere here in Idaho, esp for hauling bikes, kayaks, camping gear, etc. I've even seen a 1st Gen hauling a single horse trailer in the mountains, haha. Glad to see you making the most of your rig. :) Love the pic of the snow-covered trailer.

Hey there, I'm running an OME lift now and ill be upgrading the springs shortly going to HD's(actually giving my lift to son for his X) leaning more towards Radflo (recommended by Xorro and Boulder Nissan).. I have a Hefty Front and Rear Bumper, it'll definitely ride and sit better. Especially towing our smaller M416 trailer w/ RTT (in the process of building)
