XterraKevin's ArcticX

Let the build begin!

This is when I first got the ArcticX

I had the beauty for a while and did not know about the capabilities! Then, I went off roading in her! Handled better than my 1986 D21 Pickup truck. From there it was only a matter of time before the Interwebz showed me the true capabilities! So let the Mods begin...

First was the PML,
Then removed the Nerf Bars and the rear sway bar, and added horsepower

Then removed the resonator

Got some 265/75/r16 Wrangler Duratrac 10 Ply tires to help out

UPDATE: I have been very busy lately with baseball and vacation! Recently, I painted my bumper and my rails. I am also trying to replace all of my ball joints (Major Pain) and also replaced my idler arm and my center link.

This is where the ArticX stands today!

Soon to come:
() Front Bumper from RLC,
() Snorkel,
() Custom Rocksliders,
() Painted Rims, and Plastic,
() Idler Arm Brace,
() Smittybuilt X20 Winch,
() Hi-Lift Jack
() GOBI Rear Ladder,

I did all four balls on mine in a day with only hand tools. You will want the 1 7/8" socket for the lowers, and need a press for the uppers.

Center link I wouldn't expect to be too bad, especially if the knuckles are already off. Idler arm is simple, but make sure you buy a brace to go with it; it is the weak point of our steering.

Okay I will look at those different kinds of idler arms. I was already buying a brace for it Haha and I possibly might remove my cats because I have one that's already out and if I get a new one, my engine that already burns a lot of oil will possibly burn more and its more money to fix. I will leave it for now though

When the day comes that I am able to get a front bumper I am going to mount the hi lift on the hood/cowl area.

I recommend keeping it low, as when you mount it on the roof rails it will want to go down and I have seen dented roof lines from a loose mount.

Or you could mount it on the flat bars up top. Just remember that it is going to want to move around so give it some flex room.

My bumper came in Now I need to go to the Grandparents house and weld the tubes on, paint it and put it on! Oh! and go get my winch! Started on my rock sliders too! These next couple weeks are going to be busy for my X! and I will probably paint the rims soon:)
