Won't go in to 4LO.... MIL on...

We recently had the MIL turn on, though I suspect it to be the cheap ass locking gas cap that we recently put on it. I put the stock gas cap on and am hoping the MIL goes away.

Anyway, I put it in to 4wd Low today and the light just flashed in the dash, i drove around at 5mph for a good 10 minutes and it never went in to 4LO. 4High works just fine, but I would like to go play tomorrow and am wondering why 4lo is not engaging.... Any help?

Odd ball idea but maybe this will work disconnect the battery and reconnect the battery, the slip light will be on for like the first 100 yards or so but it should go away, and maybe then your 4lo will work as well. Just an idea, no guarantee.

your saying it goes into 4hi? here is the thing. the vehicle needs to be put into neautral, foot on the brake, not moving then put it into 4low. If it does not go into 4low while your not moving it will never go when you are. You can not be moving when switching the transfer case from hi to low or low to hi. Please keep this in mind.

This, exactly. Same goes for the factory locker, if you have one.

^well not exactly. The factory locker has to be in 4lo. and stuff but you can turn it on then start driving then it will engage. Vs 4lo you can't be moving at all for it to transition.
